Relatively is not a word you can use to justify discriminating behaviour, no matter how minor. Human rights mean just that. You can't say "they have the freedom to go to school, so they have relative freedom, but we can't allow them to do jobs because that doesn't suit our culture." If the culture is against basic human rights, then it is a wrong and unhealthy culture. It is obviously because of culture that certain groups are discriminated against. Equality means changing those cultural aspects. There are more than a few incidents of that nature reported from those countries you know. If it was just because we compare it with American culture, the world would say the same thing of Sri Lanka because our culture is different from American culture too. But have you ever heard us being accused of it the way Pakistan and Iran are?
Oh God! Don't bring BDSM into this. It is a personal sexual preference. Not everybody is into it, and those who are into it enjoy it. There is male dominating BDSM as well as Female dominating ones. So that is not an argument.
If female students are getting more into unis, it is because they are more interested. In Sri Lanka, the number of girls who get into universities increase with each year. Does that mean we are a female dominated country and that we are discriminating against men? No, it's because the girls who get in are qualified.females are given a selected quota only in traditionally male dominated industries because women are discriminated in those and employers are not interested in hiring women even if they are equally qualified.
That phrase has been used for quite a long time, and it was in existence before the concept of equality. That has nothing to do with this. It means something else entirely. One could also argue that it is insulting towards women because it assumes women always have to stand behind men for success.![]()
So you see, this is in no way a sign of female domination, and oppression of males.![]()
oppression happens in Western countries too. but try to get the average then you can get into a proper conclusion. yeah as you said if there are omissions in a culture it should be changed but depend on the desire of people. recently there was a survey about feminism in Saudi Arabia and most of women have been asked questions regarding wide variety of fields. final conclusion was 80% of women insisted to stay with their existing culture than changing it. so why would we go and change their culture and lifestyle if they even don't want to change it. if everyone wants to change it they will somehow. like the riots happened in Egypt, Libya, etc..
lol of course no I just brought up an example.
in fact no way I am going to talk about BDSM in here.
It is not actually an insult. it is some sort of a compliment. now turn back and see How many women have been involved in your life's journey that you have passed so far. mainly women are so close to their children than males. that's a fact. it doesn't matter what you are saying. women should stay behind most of males unless men are incapable of achieving success cause women guide them through barriers.
There is no sign because it has already happened in most of western countries.
