Got's next 5 and 10 years planing agenda is currently work in progress in a mix of senior professionals, law makers and foreign economic consultants (one of top consultancy company in the world). this agenda believe to be stand in the middle of socialism and capitalism which involves a lot of foreign investments tight up with government established firms (NOT PRIVATE) to increase GDP, per capital income and creation of jobs. This plan does not entertain unfair salary increment for government workers as a political bait and some of constitutional changes will bring to overcome lags in decision making process of ministries, corporations and departments. Also all ministerial portfolios will have set have set of skills and educational backgrounds which minister must comply and assign accountability and transparency within the each portfolio.
Changes in law system will be replace with fast, efficient and unbiased court hearing where judgement should be served within shorter period of times. All biased laws and regulations like Muslim law, Udarta law will not be abolished but will make some changes to align with the general law. existing commissions will be further strengthened, Police department will be changed considerably, it also considered to recruit graduates as police officers to make the job professional and ethical. police uniform also may change and all officers will be given a comprehensive training about the law, professionalism etc.
Threewheeelers will be banned,motorcycle import will be limited, vehicle import will be limited with high taxes to reduce trade deficiency, negotiations will be carried out with vehicle manufactures to establish plants in Sri Lanka to serve both local and foreign markets (NEGOTIATIONS MEAN PROPOSALS) existing threewheeler owner will be giving a reasonable to time to dispose them based on the date of registration and special loan facility will be given to buy a certain car (locally manufactured electric) which can only be used for taxi service.
more than 50% of current Import of many items will be banned (Strategy can not be revealed now)
Public transport will be revamped.
Public discipline will be address through strict laws and regulation. (comply or get punished)
and much more policies and procedures on the way that practical and effective.
