yes they can but there is no time for them to stop gota now even if they got a favored hearing gota can still run for presidency.

SC can rule against gota even after the nomination date.. then Election commition have to remove gota's nomination or SC can issue interim order to postpone Presidential election till the verdict same as elpitiya election i think
