Yes.. There can be many definitions for science. But making dummy statements without any basis or backed by facts isn't one of them.

The problem is that even now there are people following similar treatments. That's why I don't like these miracle treatment canvassers. They send people 6 feet under very quick by giving them false hopes and misinformation.
I will just tell you what happened recently. One of my friends called me about mid July and asked for help regarding a person known to him, residing away from Colombo. I passed on a contact of a specialist from a nearby town and asked them to go and meet him. Without mentioning any names the patient was under 60 years of age. Had difficulty in swallowing, reflux, losing a bit of weight etc.
A CT scan was done and Lower oesophageal growth was noted with a large liver lesion with possible staging T3 N3 M1. The biopsy confirmed adnenocarcinoma. The consultant gave them a referral and advised them of the seriousness of the situation and to get admitted to the cancer hospital without any delay.
A couple of weeks passed by and one weekend I called my friend and asked what the situation is. He said the first thing they did was to visit a "sasthara" joint where they were told that one of the neighbours had done a 'Hooniyam". So they did some jugglery to get rid of that and one of their relatives advised that there's a famous vedamahattaya who cures cancer and they are taking "Sinhala vedakam". Also told me that the first thing veda did was ask her to stop consuming meat, fish etc and go on a vegetarian diet with some specific vegetables. At each visit the charge was Rs 20,000 for medications and for some magic oil.
Second week of December they finally went to the cancer hospital. The condition has deteriorated very badly, once healthy person is now skin & bones, no chemotherapy possible with the current state of health, yet they did a few days of radiotherapy.
PS: This is why these fakes should be exposed with their promoters. They do much damage by promoting these quacks. Sadly many people believe in these fake claims and get heir fingers burnt. There aren't any miracle cures. Otherwise we can get all these "vedas" to run all the hospitals.

ඉතින් ඒ දවස් 6 පුලුවන් තරම් පට්ටිකා පරිස්සම් කරන් අල්ලගෙන ඉන්න එක තමයි කරන්න ඕනෙ. ලොකුම දේ හෙලවෙන්නෙ නැතුව ඉන්න එක.
