We should reduce defense budget and increase allocation for healthcare and education. But no politician will agree to do that because, one, they need to keep the military happy to ensure their own survival. Two, they don’t want the population educated. Less educated we are, the easier for the politician to fool us and control us. That is why even when the country is utterly economically bankrupt we still spend the huge amount for defense and almost nothing on education and healthcare.
