u are right. but did it ever occur to u that u can justify cannibalism along the same line ? when no one is volunteering to accept a corpse can u justify that since this body has no owner it's okay if some cannibal group cooked and ate it ?
social norms and rules arent logical. they are intersubjective agreements to refrain from certain actions. some things are logical. but again that's only when u can logically infer the morality of that action from another set of norms. in that case what u are doing is using other norms as the logical foundation of ur conclusion. those who are opposing this action could be addressing those axioms. an unsound proposition based on one set of axioms can be sound in another set of axioms. just like cannibalism, dog meat, and many other things.
besides modern day liberals has the best reason to oppose this. this is downright objectification of women.
we already kill fishes and chickens. that doesnt imply we should also kill dogs and cats. logic alone can neither justify nor condemn an action.
According to me, the linkage between the “act of that lady” and your above metaphor/scenarios is very complicated and….maybe irrelevant. Because , as far as I can imagine socially & philosophically, your points of cannibalism and killing dogs/cats are at another dimension. Here we are talking on how modern-day lives are running under the shadow of capitalized liberalism.
However I agree with you at one point. Knowingly or unknowingly we all are objectified by the market which blessed by capitalized liberalism. As you have also pointed out, norms, rules customs and traditions, we experience today , had been made by people at different stages of social evolution. So this is just another stage of evaluation !
Here, a new set of norms, rules customs and traditions are being made by capitalized liberalism---Nothing more ---Nothing less !!!
