Mediation board's role is to find a peaceful/amicable solution to your case. If you don't want to agree to a settlement, say no. They won't force you and they can't. All they will say in the report is the two parties didn't agree.

Thereafter, its up to each party to decide whether to go to courts.

Yes. Don't promise anything that you can't fulfill. If you do, the judge may hold it against you. If can't agree to something, say NO. Mediation board will not force you.

    Thanks bro

I saw there's a plan to present mediation certificate to parliament in August. They're planning to make it legal.

Mediation board is something established by law. This has been the case since 1988. Civil disputes/family cases below a threshold is referred to the mediation board. What mediation board cannot do is force a settlement. Its always based on agreement If the parties agree, they issue a settlement by mediation certificate, which is legally binding. If you agree at the mediation board and then don't do what you agreed, you will be in deep shit.

If you do not agree to a settlement, then they issue a non-settlement certificate.
