My father has Alzheimer's, which is a bit different than Parkinson's. His brother had this disorder and passed away. And my other uncle also passed away with this disorder. It was said that this is a genetic disorder; hence, it will inevitably and eventually come to me as well.

My father has Alzheimer's, which is a bit different than Parkinson's. His brother had this disorder and passed away. And my other uncle also passed away with this disorder. It was said that this is a genetic disorder; hence, it will inevitably and eventually come to me as well.
    BTW it'snot exactly inevitable.

Family history only adds to the risk of Alzheimer's. If you are over 65 years there's a risk of diagnosing AD of about 2%. Family history raises the 2% annual risk by about 30%, to 2.6% per year. At the age of 70 the normal risk is 5% and with family history 6.5%

Currently more than 70 different genetic regions associated with Alzheimer’s. There are Risk genes & Detreministic genes. APOE-e4 gene remains the most dominant one, having the strongest impact. Between 40-65% of people diagnosed with Alzheimer's have the APOE-e4 gene. It stands for Apolipoprotein E. The APOE gene is involved in making a protein that helps carry cholesterol and other types of fat in the bloodstream.
APOE comes in several alleles (or forms) namely e3, e3 and e4.
APOE e2 might offer some protection for the disease, e3 is neutral and e4 increases the risk.
Each person inherits two APOE alleles, one from each biological parent, leading to six possible combinations: 2/2, 2/3, 2/4, 3/3, 3/4, and 4/4. Having two copies of APOE ε4 is associated with a higher risk of Alzheimer’s than having one copy.
While inheriting APOE ε4 increases a person’s risk of Alzheimer’s, some people with an APOE ε4 allele never develop the disease.

So having being passed down the gene from the family doesn't mean sure AD. There are other epigenetic factors too. Also there are other rare single-gene variants that cause the disease - Amyloid precursor protein (APP) in chromosome 21, Presenilin-1 (PS-1) in choromosome 14 & Presenilin-2 (PS-2) in chomosome 1.
An offspring of a biological parent who carries a genetic variant for one of these three genes has a 50/50 chance of inheriting that altered version of the gene - thus a very strong probability of developing Alzheimer’s.

PS: Also read my old post https://elakiri.com/threads/new-study-vitamin-d-supplementation-can-reduce-dementia-by-40.2096591/

PPS: Parkinson’s disease (PD) itself does not lead to death. It can cause death due to complications arising from it.
