Lol. No. these are two totally different organizations.

Organizations work together for joint efforts.

Any UN organization (UNICEF, WHO, UNDP,UNHABITAT, ILO) has an icon for donors. these donations will be acknowledged. but they don't beg foe money.

UN has 2 funds.

RR = Regular Resources.
OR = Other resources.

RR is basic funding. OR is donations. if you consider all the donations, contribution of Sri Lanka is Well below 0.1%.

for UNICEF It is basically American funds.

A: asking money in elakiri for his mother's medicine.
B: asking money from their website donation button.

Some ask medical proof from A, but nobody ask it from B.

Those donor countries meet at UN head office and review the proposals for each country.

SL is not even close to become such a donor country. Each country office has different donors etc.

For Sri Lanka it is EU, Australia and Ireland.

For Afghanistan it is USA and Japan.

to avoid discrimination and equalize opportunities, anyone can donate. but the donations through individuals are not even .1% of overall budget.
