I think every person loves their parents. But problems happen when one has to bare the cost of their parents, while earning a low salary in SL. I recently posted an analysis on EK, that unless you get Rs. 100,000 you cannot maintain your own car/ own house and when you have children, costs only adds up. And how many in SL do you think earn Rs. 100,000?

This is why in developed countries, people make sure to earn enough to fund their retirement so that they do not become a burden to their children. In those countries that's why children leave their parents to seek that independence because after 18, anyone can get a student loan from the government and go to Uni and start their own life. But in SL, parents have to fund their children's higher education as well, using EPF money :no:

and thereby have no way of funding their own retirement.
