I had the same sort of experience on friday.
This is also a similar story which happen to me on last Friday. I had an operation on Thursday, and had a follow up visit to hospital on Friday. I came out of hospital building and walking towards the car park, after ringing my wife to pick me up. I saw some birds fighting, but when looks closer it's few birds pecking a little parrot chick, so I walk closer and shoo the other birds. But I cant bend down (due to pain in my operation) to pick it up, or do anything. I look around to get some help, but this is around six in the evening and hospital entrance closed, so nobody around.
Then I saw a group of girls going towards the other (night ) entrance and wave at them as I am in trouble. They are a group of overseas medical students, and they thought I fell ill and ask their help. Anyhow after told them the story about this baby parrot, they pick it up, gave it some water and said they will check it out and look after it. At last they said "we had plans to go to a pub and have a drink since it's Friday night, but now we take this bird to our accommodation and treat it as good as we can and hand it to RSPCA in the morning.
