Both Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists advance computing technology and solve problems using computing technology. If we consider computing technology in terms of scale, Computer Engineers operate often at the microscopic and macroscopic ends of the spectrum, whereas Computer Scientists work in the middle parts of the spectrum. More specifically, Computer Engineers deal with the physics of semiconductor electronics so that they may design hardware from the integrated circuit level (small), as well as with the integration of hardware and software optimized to run on it to realize complete, special-purpose computing systems (large). Computer Scientists write the software, design the databases, devise the algorithms, format the communications, and secure the data that are processed by the hardware to make the integrated system function.

නෑ බන් මේකයි සිද්දිය මම මේ පාර A/L. පහුගිය ටිකෙ පිස්සු කෙලල දැන් විශයන් තුන ටිකක් අවුල්
මේ පාර කරගන්න බැරිම නෑ හැබැයි ලොකු ශුවර් එකක් තියන්නත් බෑ. මේ පාර වැඩේ කොට උඩ ගියත් computer science වගේ යන්න නම් සෙට් වෙයි මම බලුවෙ 2nd shy කරනවද නැතනම් computer science වගේ යනවද කියල.
පොඩි කලේ ඉදලම මට software engineer කෙනෙක් වෙන්න උනක් තියෙනව.

Both programmes are great...Mora you will get exposure to other fields such as Advanced mathematics, Electronic, Mechanical, Electrical which would be very useful later in your career.

Software engineering wise, I don't see a difference. I have worked side by side with UCSC graduates and their skills were top-notch.

මොරා CSE කෙලින්ම 4years
UCSC CS එකේ බැච් එකෙන් 40යි 4 years degree එකට තෝරාගන්නේ. 2nd year GPA එක base කරගෙන

• 20k BSc.(Hons) in Computer Science
• 20k BSc.(Hons) in Software Engineering

ඉතුරු අය 3rd year එකෙන් out වෙනවා. B.Sc. in Computer Science
