Aragalaya did what it set out to do, get GR to step down. That definitely needed to happen

But I agree with the poster in that once the IMF stepped in to bail the country out it didn’t matter who was president, it all came down to implementing the austerity measures demanded by IMF or losing the bailout.

So I feel the poster is correct when he says that even if it had been Dalas in charge back then instead of RW nothing would’ve changed

Dude IMF didn't just come, they needed LK to be on board, they needed someone who could give the leadership to let the rest work, a guy who would take decisions for the country without thinking about the damage it will do politically to them. Remember what Badhu kota campaigned on? reducing taxes, reducing electricity, reducing petrol prices and people voted for that right? But did he do any of that? No right. So what would have happened if he actually todl the truth? He would have lost . That just shows you whatever Ranil did was good for the country but wasn't popular to get him voted again.
