Yes 1979 . Independent Television Network (ITN) and soon this was taken over by government and became govt owned business undertaking of ITN and Rupawahini came in 1982 . These were all 3-4 hr transmissions unlike what we have today. We lived with these two channels for a very long time till MTV came in 1990s.
The quality of the progammes shown were very high compared with junk shown now.

මම නිදාගෙන චූ බර වෙලා ඇහරුනාම සාලේ ඉන්නවා කොහොමත් අහල පහල ගෙවල් වල 15-20ක්.. උන්ගේ කකුල් උඩින් පැන පැන තමා මම ඉස්සරහ දොරෙන් චු කරන්න මිදුලට යන්නේ.
මේ තියෙන්නෙ භාන්ඩෙ,, අපෙ ආතගෙ පනත් හරි මේකත් හරි..අතක් තියන්න දෙන්නෙ නෑ වෙන කාටවත්
