Audio technica - M50x - $150 USD - used for a while and not using now.

Foobar -> Directsound -> Asus Xonar SE with custom Op amps.

UE: clean and tight bass. Not over powered. Vocals are amazing. Highs were rough at the beginning and became smooth after listening many hours. Can hear some notes that are not clear on the M50x. Very well balanced. Overall one of the best sets I used.

M50x: Not much balanced. Lows are bit overpowered and sometimes muddy not tight. you will miss some notes during heavy cello or bass guitar pays. Vocals are not as clean as UE set, especially the female voices. Highs are ok.

Pretty clear sounds, sound stage, frequency response, build quality, premium drivers, etc.
Best for listening to high quality music like FLAC files. Can feel the musical instruments when you listen with your eyes closed <3

I have a Sony WH-1000XM3 that I've been using with my phone and work laptop. Pretty good for normal use.
