අපි වැඩ කරලා තවත් තැනකට යනකොට Full practical ප්‍රශ්න අහපු අතලොස්සයි මට සෙට්වෙලා තියෙන්නේ
අනික ඒ්වගේ තැන් වලින් වැඩක් කරලා පෙන්නන්නත් අවස්ථාව දෙනවා..ඒතනින් තමයි ටැලන්ට් ඒක මනිනේ

You need to know the basics to excel. Therefore I don't see a problem in asking about them. Not sure from where this frog thing comes from. Remember that when you call for interviews a hell of a lot of people apply. You need to find a filtering mechanism to get the people you need. So they have to stick to things like this. It is not like all of you guys are honest people noh?

Once they are filtered out a practical exam makes sense. But then again there are enough people who will copy answers and ace this. So it isn't actually a easy thing to pick the right people for the right job.

For your record, not all ppl who applied get a call for an interview. Dev manager, a lead developer and HR should sit together and filter out useless applications.

Machan I have been interviewing people for a long time. From experience I know that our guys will apply for anything, put fake shit in their CV and even exaggerate somethings (eg: The guy who knows to run a few linux commands will put that they are linux experts ).

So if you filter out using CVs you only can drop a very few. Then the rest needs to go through the normal process. And in that process it is always good to evaluate if a person actually knows the basics and understands them. The latter is very important for the growth.
