Nah very few models used to have the wet belt compared to dry belts and chains but those models too are being phased out. All new Peugeot puretech 1.2 engines have timing chains instead of the wet belt as well. Honda discontinued the P10A2 too.

Yeah, that's true. I'm driving a 2021 Citreon C4, and my dealership did a free belt replacement when I bought it at 28000 miles. You have to keep monitoring the belt and changing it often. Other than that, 1.2 PureTech engines are very fuel efficient.

Even if you keep replacing belts every 30K miles every belt will still shed some particles which will contaminate the lubrication system over time.

They really had no option than to get rid of it entirely and switch to a timing chain again

Maybe, but I see some people have driven long milages without an issue in our Citreon group. Anyway, I won't be keeping this for more than 2 years. Then it's time to move to an electric
