I am not so sure about this. Your explanation probably partly accounts for it, but the usage of Amden is way before the 90's. I am quite positive on that count. Even this slang is used by the Tamils too. I have read an article in one of our English weekend papers, a very long ago, that the word in fact originated with the light cruiser Emden.
If the those are the facts then may be I am wrong. I was always of the opinion that Anderson was the origin of the name as the first stories I heard were fabricated around Anderson.I am not so sure about this. Troy did exist. Heinrich Schliemann located the burnt site. However, the Trojan Horse is believed to be a fable. The main source for the story is from the Aeneid of Virgil, and Homer’s Odyssey. If the those are the facts then may be I am wrong. I don't trust the newspapers though. Once a Viyaja newspapers weekend paper published an article written by one of their permanent authors about Trojan Horse. It read that ancient Greeks used to build wooden horses with a chamber in the belly for soldiers to hide as a defence strategy. After reading that horse shit I never trusted newspapers.
Troy did exist yes, may be somewhere in modern day Turkey, and although highly unlikely the Trojan Horse could be true too but it was just one instance true or false, lol. The newspaper guy had said it was a defence strategy, as if there were hundred Trojan Horses around Troy.Troy did exist. Heinrich Schliemann located the burnt site.
