You need a realistic person, a person with experience to run a country like SL. remember Gota? he failed during the crisis because he didn't know what to do.
Also you need to understand that a country like SL cannot be turned in to a singapore over night or in 5 years. It takes a lot of work and changes in many places. When you take a country it has so many known and unknown variables. I don't get the feeling that JVP has any idea about this. They think fixing/changing a few things will change the course of this country.

That isn't going to happen because this country is actually run by guys with money and not politicians. Politicians are just puppets. So if you aren't tactful when making changes the country can easily collapse. example: Until today no on has been able to control the rice mafia.

there are 22million people in this country and they just need to survive. So what I think need is a realisitc dude with experience who doesn't try to make drastic changes (like jeppas propose) but someone who can do subtle changes that will grow over time.

so --> at this point Ranil is the least worse option we have.
