Incident: SriLankan A321 at Kochi on May 18th 2016, engine failure

A SriLankan Airbus A321-200, registration 4R-ABQ performing flight UL-168 from Kochi (India) to Colombo (Sri Lanka), was climbing out of Kochi's runway 27 when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 due to an engine (V2533) failure and returned to Kochi for a safe landing on runway 27 about 25 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Kochin about 48 hours after landing back in Kochi.

why can't you do this on a Boeing or Airbus?

i saw once a Boeing attempting this. and It did not succeed in safe landing like this. That is why i came to such conclusion.

Seriously - i was wrong. Here is a better piloting skills demonstration than above. Many American and European Pilots would eject at this stage. But this guy does not.
