Several restrictions to continue despite lifting of islandwide travel ban
A decision has been taken to lift the islandwide travel restriction on the 14th of June under strict health guidelines, the Aruna Newspaper reported.
The decision had been taken during a meeting of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPC) held under the aegis of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.
Attention has been focused on maintaining the inter-province travel ban, and the prohibition of weddings, public gatherings, and parties.
A decision has also been taken to permit only employees of essential services under State Institutions to report to work.
Details of the guidelines to be issued in line with the lifting of the islandwide travel restriction will be announced by the Health Ministry and the Sri Lanka Police today, Aruna Newspaper report added. (NewsWire)
