Getting into RED and ranking up is the best thing you could do.

some of the mods on these are power hungry douchebags on a power trip
I saw one forum post where the interviewer wanted to know the purchase details of a seedbox just to know they actually own the seedbox they're using

It's true. You know. Sometimes, these types of private trackers are used to scale the tracker ladder (MAM/OPS/RED) want to know the IP address of the seedbox we're using. Before downloading the torrent files, we need to submit the IP address of the seedbox too.

exactly. it's just not worth the hassle
I've seen some reviews of these private trackers that boast about having old TV shows that people have never heard about.
there are times when we can't find an old shows or a movie that's not available in most online sources, which these trackers may have
but having to jump through all these hoops to get there is just not for me.
btw I didn't post this as a slight against you(just saw that you're the op). if you're in pursuit of these trackers go for it.

You are correct; some lower-level trackers will have a majority of 97-98% of what I want. Hunting for those “cabal” trackers (PTP/HDB/BTN) is worth it for people who are into older content.
