Automatic transmission එකක් සහිත car එකක් කන්දක් නගිද්දීන් accelerate කරන්නේ නැතුව නිකන් තිබ්බම පස්සට යන්න බලනවද වාහනේ නැතිනම් එකතැන හිටිනවද? (brake එක අතඇරලා) Hill assist control එහෙම option නැති වහනයක්.

පස්සට යනවා.. ඒක හැබැයි අවුලක් නෑ brake එකෙන් කකුල අරගෙන accelerator එක ටක්ගාල පාගනවනේ අපි ඒ පොඩ්ඩ්ට ගොඩක් පස්සට යන්නෙ නෑ... පොඩ්ඩක් යනවා ඒක ඇගට දැනෙනවා... කෙල්ලෙක් එහෙම බයවෙලා මගුලක් කරගත්තොත් තමා නැතම් අවුලක් නෑ..

Up to a certain degree of incline the torque converter could hold it automatically without using the brakes. On a steeper incline, of course the car would roll backwards unless you apply the brake, or lock the brakes, or just balance it out using the accelerator. The last option is always what I do. I belong to a generation of manual gearboxes and everything is easy.

Yep all automatic transmissions (AT, CVT, DCT) do that to varying degrees

But automatic means you can left foot brake so it's easy to make zero rollback uphill starts unlike manuals which you might have to use the handbrake

In CVTs there's no friction at all. Even in a small incline car can rollback while you change pedals if you're not fast enough. It happened in the Allion once I thought car was in neutral while it's actually in D.

I read somewhere that Toyota CVTs shift to neutral when you're at a complete stop and have the foot on the brake so the car rolls backward when you let off. It only shifts back to D when you accelerate

It's actually in partial disengaged state as I know. Same happen with Honda and Nissans.
