ayya i saw crysis 1st aroud early 2007...computers in that tym were very low in perfoamce...lyk Pentium Ds....now its more than 2 years...how can it still be impossible for me 2 get playable FPS??
Because even though 9400GT is released quite recently, it is slower than 8600GT :P

And I'm not saying you can't play Crysis on a decent VGA. You just need to buy a decent VGA. Bare minimum of a decent VGA is nVidia 9600GT or Radeon 3870/4830 .

If you want to play Crysis, forget anything below 9600gt. even 9600gt cannot run it well. but that's the best price to performance vga in SL i guess. you can buy one for around Rs.15000. it's not for getting high fps, but for getting playable fps.

but yes, the current version of premiere will *like* the quad core. i can't speak for future versions though.
    Off topic:

Is 9600GT is a low end GPU or mid end GPU?:nerd:

I wouldn't put it to low end, because you can play almost everything at 1280x1024 at max settings. It's just a budget gaming VGA.

dude if u are planning on gaming on this computer... dont get a low end VGA with high end mobos and cpus.. not worth it..

get a cheap G31 mobo or G33 paired with some decent graphic card.. ( 9600gt or higher..

if u are in kurunegala.. dont visit epsi showroom (overpriced and after sales customer care is useless) try a kurunegala based vendor like extreme.

i got my comp parts from extreme.. and the VGA from SLmega.. the following reig cost me around 51000rs

    PNY 8800gt from slmega(19300rs)

    C2D E7200 2.53Ghz, 2 gigs of 800mhz kingston DDR2, 160gb Samsung SATA drive(all for 32000rs)

this setup can play crysis with all settings on high and some on Very high(without O'ing)

nvidia chipsets are crap??? ARE YOU FRINKIN MAD????
They are! Only reason to get them over Intel WAS SLI. But not X58 supports SLI and I don't see ANY REASON to get them, unless you can have them for half the price, which is NEVER gonna happen.

They overclock less, generate more power, hard disk controller is slower!!!

cant say the same thing for phenom fans out there.. 750a is still the way to go if u go for phenom...

for an example with intel based nforce models the 680i is a very nice MObo..

Even a Foxconn G31MX will be enough for your requirement. You just need to buy two 2GB RAMs because it only has 2 slots. BTW, it's just Rs. 5750 iirc :P
so ur telin me that foxconn mars and G31MX are equal in performance for my configratn?
ps-no board here under foxconn mars offers oc

Why are you comparing it with old Intel hardware?

Intel has 3 new generations of chipsets (3x, 4x, 5x), while nVidia only has one generation after 6xx (i.e. 7xx).

I'm pretty sure the G31MX is capable of FSB400 (1600 QPed) which will get your Quad to 3.6GHz or E7200 to 3.8GHz :)
