    Proud to be a 7-series owner  :D ;)
Still, I was talking about 7800 series and 6800 series :D
7600 is not great for utilizing SM3 features. You can, but it's not such a great experience. But it depends on the person. There are some people who are willing to sacrifice performance for image quality (even if it goes lower than 25fps!!! )

Don't play with the BIOS unless you are very sure of it. One small error and that's a dead VGA.

If there's anything that would interest me, it would be protection against power surges (from power lines as well as telephone lines)

It is covered by that.BTW does 8600 GTS have 128 bit memory?
    It is covered? Then great.
    Yeah :(
I was hoping it will have 256bit, because 8800GTS has 320bit and 8800GTX has 384bit bus width.

No, not really. It's almost on par with a 7900GTX in DX9. It will be super fast in DX10 environment. But have to wait and see what AMD will offer. Those cards will be out in this months iirc.
