like you said tourism, BPO, software & other services must be developed

you need more FDI (foreign direct investment) for that

hotel chains, resorts, cruise liners & casinos can come to sri lanka when the right conditions are present

endless possibilities are possible but you have to be skeptical about the future with a government that promotes a 'deshiya' economy (eat bathala ) & high level of corruption

sri lanka can become the 'florida' of asia if the right reforms are in place

when sri lanka needs to develop more, sri lanka lost gsp+

ඉදිරි මාස 06 ක කාලය වෙනුවෙන් ජී.එස්. පී. ප්ලස් බදු සහනය ලබා දීම සඳහා යුරෝපා සංගමය ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාව වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති කොන්දේසි 15 ක් ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා විසින් තරයේ ප‍්‍රතික්ෂේප කර තිබේ. ඊයේ (23) පැවති කැබිනට් මණ්ඩල රැස්වීමේ දී ජනාධිපතිවරයා අවධාරණය කර ඇත්තේ ඇමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 150 ක් වෙනුවෙන් රටේ ස්වෛරීභාවය පාවා දීමට තමා කටයුතු නොකරන බවය.
යුරෝපා සංගමය ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති කොන්දේසි අතර ත‍්‍රස්තවාදය වැළැක්වීමේ පනත අහෝසි කිරීම, හදිසි නීති රෙගුලාසි යටතේ අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන සිටින සැකකරුවන් නිදහස් කිරීම, 17 වන ආණ්ඩුක‍්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය ක‍්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම යනාදිය වෙයි. මෙහිදී ජනාධිපතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ මෙම සියලූ කරුණු රටේ අභ්‍යන්තර කටයුතු වලට මිස ජාත්‍යන්තර වෙළෙඳාමට අදාළ ඒවා නොවන බවය.
මෙම කොන්දේසි ඉටු කිරීමට නම් ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධන සිදු කළ යුතු බවත් එය මාස 06 ක් වැනි කාලයක දී කළ නොහැකි බවත් කියා සිටි රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා අමාත්‍යවරුන්ට දැනුම් දුන්නේ ජී.එස්. පී. ප්ලස් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා මින් ඉදිරියට කිසිදු පාර්ශ්වයක් සමග සාකච්ඡ පැවැත්වීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවක් නොවන බවය.

President Supporter : GSP not politics

Sri Lankan born Conservative Member of the European Parliament Niranjan Deva Adithiya (Niranjan Joseph "Nirj" De Silva Deva-Aditya) says that the conditions laid down by the European Union to extend the GSP Plus trade concession to Sri Lanka for a period of six months, have nothing to do with politics and are purely an administrative measure.

Deva Adithiya has been quoted in the local media today (27) saying that the EU was not trying to interfere in Sri Lankan affairs, as it is Sri Lanka that had signed the international conventions.

He has explained that the EU has only requested Sri Lanka to initiate the process of implementing the necessary laws that have been outlined in the conventions the country has signed and show its commitment.

According to Deva Adithiya, the EU was only asking the government to honour "what it has promised to the EU."

Mr. Niranjan is a big supporter of president mahinda & his government.

Even Mr. Niranjan can see whats going on, the government does not want to respect the rights of the people.

I'm not a supporter of President so this post may not relevant to me.
How ever I have a little thing to say my friend,I don't think you are in a mind set to look at this problem in an un-bias way.What I tried to show in my upper post is there are two sides(or may be more) in an incident so it is our duty to find the truth first and argue.
I have seen your previous posts & they clearly show us that you are supporting a certain party or a person(that's a good thing).But if you are looking at these things living on those thoughts it's so sad.
