පසුගිය දිනවල සමාජ ජාල ඔස්සේ බොහෝ දෙනාගේ විවේඡනයට ලක්වූ ‘බුදුන්ගේ රස්තියාදුව‘ නම් කෘතිය ලියූ කතෘට මුද්රණකරුවන්ට බෙදාහරින්නට හා අලෙවිකරුවන්ට නඩු පවරා දඩුවම් දෙන ලෙස ඉල්ලමින් උසස් අධ්යාපන හා සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු අමාත්ය විජේදාස රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පොලිස්පතිවරයා වෙත නියෝගයක් නිකුත් කොට තිබෙනවා.
අදාළ ලිපියේ පිටපත් ජනපතිවරයාට අගමැතිවරයාට යොමු කර ඇති බවද එම ලිපියේ සඳහන් වනවා.

ඒ අනුව දණ්ඩ නීති සංග්රහයේ 290, 290A, 291A 291B යන වගන්ති යටතේ අදාළ ප්රකාශයනය නිකුත් කළ කතෘ බෙදාරින්නන් හා අලෙවිකරුවන් වරදක් සිදුකොට ඇති බවත් පරීක්ෂණයක් සිදුකොට හැකි ඉක්මණින් ඔවුන්ට දඩුවම් ලබාදෙන ලෙසත් අමාත්යවරයා ලිපිය මගින් නියෝග කොට තිබෙනවා.
Cultural Minister Requests Police Chief To Take Action Against Author, Publisher And Distributors Of 'Budunge Rasthiyaduwa'
Higher Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has requested IGP Pujith Jayasundara to take action against the author, the publisher and the distributors of the book 'Budunge Rasthiyaduwa'.
The book launched recently was authored by K.K Srinath and published by Upul Shantha Sannasgala.
In his complaint to the Police Chief, the Minister says the content of the book insults Buddha and his teachings.
Therefore, the Minister says the publication is in violation of four articles (290, 290A, 291A and 291B) of the penal code.
The four articles deal with Injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class, acts in relation to places of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class, uttering words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings and deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class, by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
