i am not saying kottu songs are real sri lankan songs. i hate those kuttu songs they play on sri lankan public transport. this singer has tried to do something unique in sri lankan music industry. i appreciate his effort and hard work. any person who is familiar with hindi songs will understand the singing style of this song is very similar to a hindi song.

even in india there are many singing styles depending on their state and language. even though sri lankan music sounds like indian music we always had our uniqueness in it. we should never lose it.

anyway! whether its indian style or not this song can touch the heart of a person. its really amazing to see someone from sri lanka making songs in this way. it will be better if this musician can give it a lankan touch next time. the industry was full of crap music contents with sensual videos. those songs became famous just because it had a sensual video in it. this is a gem compared to those music videos. look at the amount of positive comments people have left on this kuweni video. we can say people love it when we read their comments.

Can you give us some of these 'Unique examples' which made our music different than indian music?

From what i understand these "Bus songs" are actually the unique music in sri lanka. Rest of them are just derivation of indian music styles.
