PC House, අන්තර් ජාල සමීක්ෂණ සමාගමක් මිලදී ගනී

කොළඹ කොටස් වෙළඳ පොළේ ලයිස්තු ගත PC House, සමාගම රුපියල් මිලියන 45 ක මුදලකට අන්තර් ජාල සමීක්ෂණ සමාගමක් වන Infoserve (Private) Limited සමාගමේ සියයට 90 ක කොටස් මිලදී ගනී.

Infoserve සමාගම ශ්‍රී ලංකාව පදනම් කරගත් සමාගමක් බව කොළඹ කොටස් වෙළඳ පොළට දැනුම් දී තිබෙන අතර මෙම සමාගම ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කළ බදු සහන හිමි සමාගමක් බව සඳහන්ය.

අද දිනයේදී PC House කොටසක් රුපියල් 17.40 කට ගනුදෙනු වූ අතර මධ්‍යාහ්නය වනවිට ශත 40 කින් පමණ ඉහළ ගොස් තිබුණි.

2011 මාර්තු වලින් අවසන් වන මුදල් වසරේදී පීපල්ස් ලීසිං සමාගම රුපියල් බිලියන 2.6 ක ලාභයක් වාර්තා කළ අතර එහිදී රුපියල් බිලියන 10.6 ක ආදායමක් ලැබීය.

සමාගම සතුව රුපියල් බිලියන 63.8 ක දළ වත්කම් තිබේ.

CSE on Monday 9/26/2011

The Colombo Stock Exchange saw upward movement today with the All Share Price Index gaining 1.42 points and the MPI gaining 1.88 points. The market was mainly retail driven and there was interest on low value counters. Interest was also evident on counters such as AAIC, TESS, BLUE, ECL, CLND, REEF and HVA. 106 counters made gains while 106 counters saw price deprecations. Foreign investors emerged as net sellers generating a net foreign outflow of Rs. 44 million. Market turnover for the day stood at Rs. 1.42 billion

Sri Lanka SEC to charge five with securities fraud රහස්‍ය අභ්‍යන්තර තොරතුරු උපයෝගී කර ගනිමින්(Insider Dealing) සිය සමාගමේ කොටස් වංචා සහගත ලෙස මිලදීගත් SMB ලීසිං සමාගමේ සේවකයින් පස් දෙනෙකුට සුරැකුම් පත් හා විනිමය කොමිසම නඩු පැවරීමට සූදානම් වේ.

සුරැකුම් පත් හා විනිමය කොමිසම පවසා තිබෙන්නේ මෙම සේවකයින් පස් දෙනා අදාළ රහස්‍ය තොරතුරු භාවිතා කරමින් සමාගමේ හිමිකම් නිකුතුවට කලින් සමාගමේ කොටස් මිලදීගෙන තිබෙන බවයි.
සමාගමේ හිමිකම් නිකුතුව පිළිබඳව මහජනතාවට තොරතුරු දැනුම් දී තිබුණේ අගෝස්තු 17 වනදායි.

Sri Lanka stocks closed marginally higher.
Sri Lanka main stock index ASI closed 1.42 points higher at 6736.02 while MPI closed at 6025.81, up 1.88 points. Day's
total turnover amounted to 1.42 billion rupees. Tess Agro Plc (TESS) was the most active stock today with more than 25 million shares changing hands. TESS closed 80 cents higher at Rs 6.60.

11,025,800 shares of Muller and Phipps (Ceylon) Plc (MULL) traded during the day and closed 20 cents higher at Rs 3.30. MULL is a favourite penny stock of day traders with little fundamental value. HVA Foods Plc was up by 8.60 to close at Rs 58.60. Illiquid Harishchandra Mills Plc was up by massive 800 rupees on mere 100 shares and closed at Rs 2400.00

99 stocks lost their value today while 91 stocks managed to close higher than previous day's closing prices. Ceylinco Insurance Plc was down by 72.50 to end the day at Rs 717.20. Hatton National Bank closed at Rs 195.00, down four rupees.

PC House PLC has acquired a 90% interest in Infoserve (Private) Limited for Rs 45 million . Infoserve (Private) Limited is a BOI approved Sri Lanka based Company, which operates under the brand name “athandz”, and is a pioneer in offering internet research services. PC House closed 10 cents higher at Rs 17.10.

CSE hires Indian consultants to help introduce a Risk Management Model


CSE hires Indian consultants to help introduce a Risk Management Model (Pic:sg.finance.yahoo.com) The Colombo Stock Exchange has appointed the National Stock Exchange of India as a consultant to help implement a progressive Risk Management Model in the CSE. The CSE says, the task of the National Stock Exchange of India will be implementing a Risk Management System and a Delivery Versus Payment system for the settlement of all Secondary market transactions in equity securities traded on the bourse. “DVP is one of the best practices advocated by the International Organization of Securities Commissions and is a mechanism which is effective in minimizing risk”, added a CSE statement published on its website. It says once DVP is placed, both the ownership transfer and payment for securities will occur simultaneously, thus minimizing risk. The system will come into place in mid 2012 and is expected to be the first step towards transforming the CSE into a modern exchange on par with the most developed global exchanges. Chairman CSE, Krishan Balendra speaking on the new initiative says, “The introduction of a progressive risk management model will certainly aid the transformation of the CSE”. He also added, “In addition to size and liquidity, post-trade risk mitigation features prominently on leading market index selection criteria. As a frontier market, our transition to the more accepted emerging market level depends on these enhancements”. Joint Managing Director NSE, Ms. Chitra Ramkrishna said, ” We will assist CSE in setting up market infrastructure and implementing global best practices that enables CSE to further strengthen market safety and integrity”. She says this will help CSE to establish a platform to offer globally bench marked products and services. The National Stock Exchange of India located in Mumbai, is the largest exchange in India, by daily turnover and number of trades, for both equities and derivative trading.

Gulf East Finance makes mandatory offer to buy Singalanka shares


Gulf East Finance Limited who has the controlling stake of Singalanka Standard Chemicals PLC has made an offer to buy the rest of the shares of the firm. Accordingly, the company announced yesterday that it is ready to purchase the remaining 2,256,828 shares at a price of Rs. 55 per share. This amount constitutes a stake of 40.73% of Singalanka. As of now Gulf East Finance Limited holds a 59.27% stake in Singalanka Standard Chemicals. The mandatory offer comes following the Gulf East Finance purchased a share amount of 2,668,225 shares of Singalanka Standard Chemicals from the recently completed Rights Issue. With this purchase, the Gulf East Finance shares in the Singalanka went up to 59.27% from the earlier stake of 44.45%. Gulf East Finance which has its business registered in British Virgin Islands is engaged in the carrying out investment and finance business.

Trading Tuesday - Sri Lanka stocks becalmed

Sept 27, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lankan stocks were becalmed for the second day Tuesday with turnover also lower than usual amind continued trade in shares that had drawn speculators, brokers said.
The main All Share Price Index rose 0.02 percent (1.43 points) to 6,737.45, while the more liquid Milanka index rose 0.03 percent (1.77 points) to close at 6,027.58, according to stock exchange figures.

Turnover was 1.3 billion rupees.

HVA Foods was the most actively traded stock, with over 3.2 million shares done, and closing at 59.40 rupees, up 80 cents.

Radian Gems International was also actively traded with 380,500 shares done, closing at 209.70 rupees, down 2.60, after hitting a high of 226.50.

Active trading was also seen in fridge maker Regnis (Lanka) which closed at 340.70 rupees, up 22.30.

Asian Alliance, which has been acquired by the Softlogic group, closed at 234 rupees, up 20.70

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation said in a stock exchange filing it bought 29.3 million shares of Tess Agro or a 16.29 percent stake for between 3.90 rupees and 5.80 rupees a share.
