Obstruction and interfierence with Government and the case would be pretty serious when it involves the Police.

Yes, the inspector can and MUST deny your request and in-trun SUE you for asking that too.

But, HECK !!! this is Sri Lanka we are talking about.

No you can't do that machang...

Police is powerful these days. If they plant some drugs in your vehicle and if they said it was yours, then sorry.com

(But yes, still they have to prove it.)

But if you don't have good connections, in the jail they'll hit you untill you acknowledge that it's your drugs..... That's SL police!

So as a policy, I don't talk law with police, just for the sake of self preservation.

But I never bribe those buggers. (Never paid fines as well )

Ok. something else to remember !

When Cops arrest you, they have to list out all the stuff that was FOUND on you before throwing inside the Jail. They have to list it out and take your signature. (They don't DO THIS and people also DOES not know about this)

Also, if your vehicle is to be pounded, they have to list the content before it's being done so.

They are called on by LAW to do the First action immediatly upon arrest and the second within 1 working day.

So, if your vehicle is not pounded (happens in a very rare situation), your lawyer can DENY the charges of you possesing DRUGS at the time of your arrest.

Just Remember.......in case you DO face this situation

Nope.. I am not very fond of bribing police on't know why... But personally I don't like it.

And no. All I did was helping that guy to fill some forms to open an account. Just a constable. But believe me, ome cosso have more power that the chief of the station

The reason u fell like not to bibe the policemen is that u feel like u r bribing him, where as in the other occasion it's not that direct & the other thing is self esteem U don't wanna be second to a policeman

Well isn't this another loop hole of the law, cuz sometimes crystal clear cases are pending due various demands of the law. like in a murder case the the item which was used for muder must be presented.

Well It's due to relative measures one lawyer beating on other, in the end both are lawyers

It's a MUST ! because that's the KEY for the whole case !

example : You are wrongfully jailed for a murder which you did not commit and your knife is presented as the witness (found at the crime scene) .....so won't that evidecen which carries in the knife such as "finger prints" "DNA"'s help you to prove your innocense.?????

again, you are NOT suppose to come into any conclutions before the court rules someone in as Guilty !

Yes, cops' salary and their living conditions play a huge role... Very true. That's why they try to earn money by bribs... See.. That's another situation to show that the system is not perfect

Yes They DO DNA testing here in SL, but costs a thumping amount.

If the Murder weapon is not presented, the case would be mostly "technical" in nature and the ACCUSED will always get the benifit of the doubt when it's come to the final ruling.

Yeah that's what I heard, so I guess DNA tests aren't conducted for every crime in SL!

Well it's just not fair to judge on the benifit of the doubt
Why can't we use a method like ensuring wether the convict is lieing or not????
