Without a good VGA card, it'll not be good for high end gaming.
Internet depends on the internet connection you get. Any old machine will do if its only for internet.
Go for 2GB or higher memory if you plan to go with Vista.

as my mate kosandpol suggested you better get 2Gb+ RAM if you are going with Windows vista x64!

2 reasons
lack of RAM & other thing is VGA
1GB RAM is not enough even u planned to put Vista 32bit
ya it works but like a snail

accordin to intel's web site both g31 and g33 are mainstream. Both their PCIe ports are x16
but G31 supports 4GB RAM max and G33 support 8GB
