yes why not? but their labour cost is high, cost of living is high. super expensive real estate...
so still in sri lanka i can save and invest more money in to my businesses

I think this is relative. It depends on the country. Talking in general is the 1st mistake we are doing here. Did you notice it's getting tough for the younger generation to own a house compared to their parents and grandparents ? This is happening everywhere. With rising population and urbanization real estate price is increasing everywhere in the world. I know a lot of families who live in rented properties in Colombo. Services being expensive is a true fact. Isn't it a sign of developed countries ?Most developed countries will have expensive services for sure. Paying for a service is not a big deal for them anyway. They can afford it with their salary.

Who do you mean by 'they' here ? It's called talking in general. Regarding tax you already answered your own question by pointing out there are rich countries that has less tax.

I have a feeling you are taking all of this keeping one 1st world country in your mind. World is full of choices.

You can use "they" for a specific group of people, not only for the whole country..
You get tax benefits in dubai, but you get tax benifits + low cost of labour + low real estate cost + low running cost in Sri Lanka...

Isn't Dubai famous for taking cheap labor from south Asian countries ? Why do you think only Sri Lanka has low running cost+ cheap real estate ? A random 3rd world country in some corner of this world can have it as well

I know sri lanka as the palm for my hand, i already got all the contacts, already have all the real estate and machinery i need..
biggest advantage i am local and i speak the native language...

It will take so much time, effort and money to build same level of abilities in another 3rd world country even if it is bit chaper than Sri Lanka..
and most probably it will have/get the same or different type of 3rd world problems like Sri lanka...

If you are more than rich - yes and no

Yes: cost of living would decrease as it wont essentially be the same for the poor and some adjustments are in need.
No: You cant buy what you like as even by the current time, there won't be any major imports of luxury items.

why not. if you have money, you can earn easy money in sri lanka (unlike in any other country).
if you need to increase your wealth you need to visit the developing parts of the Asia (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh) and Africa
if you need to "show off" that you are rich and enjoy a reasonable life, options are Australia, New Zealand, Canada and some parts of Europe. but you cant improve your wealth. Bit hard to do both in USA but you can survive

we are talking about best places for srilankans... not for Chinese in china or Vietnamese in Vietnam...

True we are talking about Sri Lankans. why do you think other Sri Lankans should prefer Sri Lanka only ? They're not prisoners of this country. It's obvious they can have a better life in a foreign nations as well.

Why are you interacting on a Srilankan forum with Srilankan people, rather than a forum based on another country?

This is not a big problem for raman2 though
yeah, because i make foreign income.. so increase in cost of living not gonna apply to me...
and i know no country can block importing vehicles or luxury items forever..
even if we get bankrupt and go to IMF in few years time they will allow imports.. I don't need CBSL's $ stake, i can provide my own $
