Guys, as you might know I was going to buy a Gigabyte board, but I had to go with this Foxconn. I was pretty pissed about this coz I couldn't go above 270 FSB with my previous board (the same model, G31MX-K 2.0). But I found a way around it.

So...I overclocked and got my CPU to 3680 GHz! 100% stable in Orthos and Prime95. Running at 1.312V!

How awesome is this? The board cost me 5400 bucks :D!

Tell me if you need pics or anything.

Btw, specs:

Foxconn G31MX-K 2.0 (<3)
[email protected]
Kingston ValueRAM 2GB DDR2 800
STLab GeForce 8600GT 512MB @ 701/1486/400.

What do you guys think of this overclock?

Nah, the max FSB is 1600. Check your manual ;).

Temps are 44C idle and 65C full load with Orthos and RealTemp.

Dude, try Intel Burn Test (or LinX which uses the same LinePack benchmark but with a better looking and *easier* interface) ;)

How much RAM do you have? If you have 4GB, then run at max stress for 4 loops. If you are running Windows x64, you'll max out the stress :)

And yes, very impressive. I got my cousin's new PC. Couldn't find the GB G31 nor the Celeron Dual Core :/ Had to settle for an E2200 and Foxconn G31. Doing 266x11 with no voltage raises. I don't wanna try an push it further because it is not mine.

Hmm, I'm hearing a lot of stuff about Intel Burn Test, I'll try it out. Using 2 gigs RAM though.

The E2200s have a FSB strap, but are pretty good little CPUs. How much was the whole setup?

Edit:

@Chanaka, Dude, 1333 FSB is still plenty to OC with. What processor do you have? Besides, the only difference between the 2.0 and the normal version is the ability to OC to 1600 FSB. A BIOS crossflash should fix that :D.

Rs.33,000 for,
Intel E2200
Foxconn G31MX-K
Kingston 1GBx2 DDR2-667
160GB Samsung HDD HD161HJ iirc
DCP 650VA UPS
Foxconn Casing with 300W PSU (couldn't trust those ULTRA GENERIC PSUs)
Samsung 22x Burner

Could have saved about Rs. 5000 if I could find the Celeron Dual Core and if I went with a crappy ULTRA GENERIC case. I didn't want to see the UPS fail JUST BECAUSE OF THE AWESOMENESS OF THE ULTRA GENERIC CRAPPY PSU. A Rs.7500 Amacrox doesn't really suit this rig :P

Haha, nice rig though for the price. Barclays I presume?

Btw, how far can you take those 667 sticks? What timings and speed before it screws up?

    He's using the X800 right?

Chanaka, That's 1066 FSB right? OC that to about 3.5 dude :D.

He is not playing games at the moment, so I didn't install the VGA. (Every VGA I gave to this guy, ended up dead!!! :O)

I didn't try pushing the RAMs. Now they are running at 708MHz. I will play with it later tonight. His PC is at our place :P

Was having trouble installing his stupid ZTE ZXDSL 852. Got BSODed and Vista died!!! I am downloading SP1 and will slipstream it and try later.

LOL!!! Vista is as stable as an OS can get, if stupid drivers and software don't screw it up!!! :D

He doesn't know anything about OCing.

Hehe. Installed Vista x64 or x86?

Btw, my rig's really stable. Going to put it through some GTA IV in a while, I don't think even Orthos can beat GTA IV when it comes to PC stressing :D.

Installed both, x64 doesn't support unsigned drivers so... no go!

Whatever you feel, there is nothing more stressful than LinePack benchmark for Intel CPUs :D
