[Well, Jacques, I'm in your shoes. I have assumed your clothes and your responsibilities, and in a curious way, I'm grateful to you. It's everything I've lacked people to need me, a home, a purpose. But I can't get into your mind. You escape me. What am I supposed to be here for to solve your problems for you, or is it to let you be elsewhere?]

    qvJecKc.jpg

    - I met your employer last night, purely by chance, and we're alike as if we were twins.···I want to see this man who's played this ridiculous joke on me, hear his explanation, receive an apology, reclaim my luggage, and go.

    - Now, let's have a look at you. Sit down, please, and cross your legs.

    - What is this farce? I have no intention of sitting. I've come here to see the owner of all this. This is a madhouse.

    - No, no. It's not as bad as that. Shall we sit down and talk calmly?

    - Calmly? I'll listen to an explanation, but you cannot expect me to be calm.

    - These hysterical outbursts don't alleviate the schizophrenic delusions. When she received the telegram, your wife was very disturbed.

    - What telegram?

    - The telegram from the doctor you visited in Paris explaining that you were subject to fits of delusion that you were somebody else.

    - I am somebody else.

    - That was before you were located. Fortunately, by the time driver telephoned, I was on the spot. I therefore instructed driver to humor you and bring you here to meet the person you thought you were not, and by this simple confrontation...

    - But you have confronted me with nobody!

    - Exactly. Thus making it clear that there's no one to confront you with except yourself and leading to a reintegration of the two supposed personalities. It merely needs your cooperation.

    - I like that. I am to cooperate with you in pretending I am somebody else or rather, that I am somebody else who thinks he's me. Is that it?

    - Broadly, in non medical terms.

    - Well, broadly, in non medical terms, I tell you my name is John Barratt.

    lDy4Y0F.jpg

[It was simple, Jacques. A likeness, a chance in 10 million, an astronomical figure gave you an alibi or a scapegoat]

"At what precise moment does an individual stop being who he thinks he is? You cut off my arm, I say me and my arm. You cut off my other arm. I say me and my two arms. Take out my stomach, my kidneys assuming that were possible. And I say me and my intestines. And now, if you cut off my head would I say me and my head, or me and my body? What right has my head to call itself 'me'? What right?"

    - Isn't this Choule's apartment?
    - Yes, it used to be. I'm the new tenant.
    - Has she moved then? Nothing's happened to her, I hope.
    - She committed suicide. Threw herself out of the window.
    - But why? Why would she do a thing like that?
    - No one knows why she did it.
    ··········································
    - There is something odd going on in my building. I quite often see people in the toilets across the courtyard.
    - What are you, a peeping Tom? Do you mean people together in the shithouse? Like an orgy?
    - No, no. They just stand there for hours, you know? Absolutely dead still.

    cmDdjAH.jpg

[They want to drive me to suicide. All right. I'll show them] ::: [I know just what you are up to. Goddamn murderers! I know exactly what your little scheme is] ::: [I'll fight. I'll fight to the bitter end] ::: [Everything's ready. They worked it all out, every detail. They've been trying to turn me into Choule] ::: [You gang of killers! I'll show you some blood. You wanted a clean death, didn't you? It's going to be dirty. Unforgettable. It was better last time, wasn't it? Well, I'm not Choule. I'm Trelkovsky!]

"Thou shalt return to the dust from whence thou came and only thy bones remain. The worms shall consume thy eyes, thy lips, thy mouth. They shall enter into thy ears. They shall enter into thy nostrils. Thy body shall putrefy unto its innermost recesses and shall give off a noisome stench. Yea, Christ is ascended into heaven and hath joined the host of angels on high, but not for creeps like you full of the basest vice yearning only for carnal satisfaction. How dare you pester me, and mock at me to my very face. What audacity! What are you doing here in my temple? The graveyard is where you belong. Thou shalt stink. Thou shalt stink like some putrefied corpse lying along the wayside. Verily I say unto thee thou shalt never enter into my kingdom"

"Wait. I hear something. It's very faint. I hear something out there. In that direction. And it's awful. A really terrible, scary sound. I know it's closer than it was. Something's coming"

    BqDrwqn.jpg

    - I'm Bob Jenkins, I'm a mystery writer. I write about these things. I just haven't taken part in them. I think I found a fallacy in our thinking, and it is this: We all assumed as we began to grasp the dimensions of this event that something had happened to the rest of the world. But the evidence doesn't bear that assumption out. What has happened has happened to us, and us alone. I am convinced that the world as we know it is ticking along as it always has. But it's we, the 10 survivors of Flight 29, who are lost. There's no mess in here, but there's a mess on the plane. There's no electricity in here, but there's electricity on the plane. Neither of these are conclusive, of course, but then there's the matches. Matches on the plane, they work fine. The matches in here, they just fizzle. The carbonated drinks are flat. The food is tasteless, the air is odorless, and sound fails to reverberate. Then, of course, there's the weather.

    - What about it?

    - Well, there's a strong wind blowing out there in heavy gusts, and yet there's a low cloud cover that doesn't move at all. It's frozen in place.

    - Mr. Jenkins, can we get to the point?

    - Well, the point is that what we're dealing with here is time, not dimension. Let's say that every now and then, a hole appears in the stream of time. Not a time warp, but a time rip. A rip in the temporal fabric.

    - That's the craziest thing I ever heard.

    - What's happening to us, the situation that we're in, this is crazy. Well, let's say that such a rip in the fabric of time does occur now and then. It would be similar to certain rare weather phenomenon that are reported, like upside down tornadoes and circular rainbows and daytime starlight.

    - The aurora borealis. There was an aurora borealis over the Mojave Desert when we left the airport. We were supposed to fly right into it.

    - Well, that's it. That's it. An aurora over the desert. That strengthens my point, doesn't it? If we had the bad luck to fly into that, and it was a time rip, well, that means that we're no longer in our own time.

    - Could we just get to the bottom line, please, Mr. Jenkins?

    - The bottom line is, I believe, that we have hopped an absurdly short distance into the past, say as little as 15 minutes, and we're discovering the unlovely truth about time travel. Fellow time travelers, have a look around you. This is the past. It's empty. It's silent. Sensory input has disappeared. Electricity has already disappeared. And time itself is winding down in a kind of a spiral that's going faster and faster.

    - But what about us?

    - If this place is winding down and we're caught in it. I suppose we'll wind down with it. Or else wink out of existence like the other passengers on our flight.

They're coming, son. The langoliers are coming.

    Shin Ultraman 2022*

    - Object incoming from outside the atmosphere... Incoming object has crashed nearby! No, it's a landing!
    - A new flying
    Kaiju?!
    - No... Its silhouette is humanoid! What is this thing?! A... silver giant?

    rl9NScG.jpg

"First a silver giant. Now a human sized extraterrestrial that can talk? They say he can control electromagnetic pulses. According to reports, he can erase and manipulate any electronic data. If it gets angry, it won't just be global economic chaos. It'll be worse than any Kaiju!···So now a third one. First Kaiju, and now even extraterrestrials are normal in Japan"

    LjvUVIm.jpg

    - It won't be so easy
    Zarab.

    - It will be if I use the existence of you Ultraman.

    - Why wipe out humans? I want to know why.

    - Once a marker is discovered on a planet, intelligent life forms must be destroyed. That is what I do. Homo Sapiens have destroyed species that they considered harmful. From my perspective, it is no different. And while Homo Sapiens possess sophisticated intellect and technology, they are a dangerous and unorganized species that breeds unnecessarily. They are worth wiping out.
    ...................................................................................

    - So, it was you,
Mefilas. You were the one who woke the bio weapons of this planet.

    - Unlike the native species of this planet, we are civilized. I'm in compliance with our interstellar agreements. Any interference with other planets is limited to the use of living creatures. The initial creatures were just for reconnaissance and tactical use. They also served as sufficient bait to lure you out. I wanted my plan to be as cost effective as possible. So, I've used what I could obtain on this planet, including Zarab. By having them fight you. I made humans feel physically powerless. Revealing the Beta System made them feel intellectually powerless. I wanted them to learn firsthand their dependence on the mighty. You have been instrumental in instilling in humanity my idealistic notion of unconditional obedience to extraterrestrial life. You are the first successful example of human fusion. It was also demonstrated in my experiment. Thanks to that, we now know that humanity is an effective biological resource and can be converted into a powerful and formidable weapon. I want to have absolute dominion over this abundant and precious biological resource before it is ravaged by other intelligent life.
    ...................................................................................

    - You took this man's life, Lipiah. No, I'll call you by the name you've been given on this planet, Ultraman.

    - That's right. He lost his life trying to protect a young human from my impact blast. An intriguing life form, one willing to sacrifice his life for the sake of others. I want to understand him.

    - So you decided to do the forbidden, and merge with a human.

    - That's right. You came as the new emissary from the
    Planet of Light?

    - My name is
Zōffy. Because you broke the Code, I'm now the watcher of the indigenous creatures called humans on this planet. At the same time, I am their adjudicator. The humans of this planet will likely evolve in the same way as we have. Therefore, we have decided to disposed of them.

    - Zōffy, I believe the planet's decision is a mistake.

    - The mistake was your fusion with a human. Each of the billions of humans can be used as a bio weapon. Now, every intelligent life form in the multiverse knows that. The best decision is to prune them all now while we have the chance. As the adjudicator, I have brought the Ultimate Celestial Suppression Weapon.

    - You mean
    Zetton?

    - Yes. I'm activating its autonomous program, that will exterminate the human race along with the entire star system.

    pHXzQPN.jpg

    - Resistance is futile. Stand aside and await humanity's purge, Ultraman.
    - No. I believe in humans and I will resist to the end. That is my choice.

    Top Gun: Maverick 2022*

    RKSYiKZ.jpg

    - Maverick. Thirty plus years of service. Combat medals. Citations. Only man to shoot down three enemy planes in the last 40 years. Distinguished. Yet you can't get a promotion, you won't retire, and despite your best efforts, you refuse to die. You should be at least a two star admiral by now, if not a senator. Yet here you are: Captain. Why is that?

    - ···I'm where I belong, sir.

    - Well, the Navy doesn't see it that way. These planes you've been testing, captain, one day, sooner than later, they won't need pilots at all.···The future is coming, and you're not in it.···It galls me to say it, but. For reasons known only to the almighty and your guardian angel. You've been called back to top gun.···The end is inevitable, Maverick. Your kind is headed for extinction.

    - Maybe so, sir. But not today.

    wQanqch.jpg

    - I'm not a teacher, ice. I'm a fighter pilot. A naval aviator. It's not what I am. It's who I am. How do I teach that? Even if I could teach it, it's not what rooster wants. It's not what the Navy wants. That's why they canned me the last time. The only reason I'm here is you. If I send him on this mission, he might never come home. And if I don't send him, he'll never forgive me. Either way, I could lose him forever.

    - The Navy needs Maverick. The kid needs Maverick. That's why I fought for you. That's why you're still here.

    HuIfSqH.jpg

    - The first pair will breach the reactor by dropping a laser guided bomb on an exposed ventilation hatch. This will create an opening for the second pair. That's miracle number one. The second team will deliver the kill shot and destroy the target. That's miracle number two. If either team misses the target. The mission is a failure. Egress is a steep high g climb out to avoid hitting this mountain. To survive this mission, you'll pull beyond 9gs, even if it means bending your airframe. You'll be pulling so hard, you'll weigh close to 2,000 pounds, your skull crushing your spine, your lungs imploding like an elephant's sitting on your chest, fighting with everything you have just to keep from blacking out. And this is where you'll be at your most vulnerable. This is coffin corner. Assuming you avoid crashing into this mountain, you'll climb straight up into enemy radar while losing all of your airspeed. Within seconds, you'll be fired upon by enemy sams. You've all faced sustained g's before, but This is gonna take you and your aircraft to the breaking point.

    - Sir, is this even achievable?

    - The answer to that question will come down to the pilot in the box.

    - Murks! Ormand Murks!
    - Takes you back four years, doesn't it?
    - But, I saw your body. I examined you. You were dead!
    - Unfortunately, one who has confined his studies to the problems of the living is not in a position to judge. To you death is merely an absence of life. There is no intermediate stage. But, that is where we disagree. For I have discovered a world in between... A world of living death. I began to wonder would it be possible for man to appear to be dead, and still be alive? The thought fascinated me. It became an obsession. I gave up everything to find the answer. And at last. I found it in a land of voodoo rites and devil potions, where your profession has no place. The Valley of the Zombies! You seem skeptical, Doctor. So was I, until I tried it. For once you've taken it, there's only one thing that will counteract its effect. Blood!

    - This is something for the police to handle.
    - Why, the police will laugh at evidence like this. Don't forget, we're number one on their hate parade.
    - But Terry, I'm no good at playing detective, I scare too easily. If we go prowling around some strange place, we're liable to get in trouble.
    - And we're liable to solve the mystery, too!
    - You know, I think you're a frustrated detective.
    - I am. When I was a kid, it was my great ambition. Now, we'll see whether I've missed my calling.
    - Heaven help me!···There's a connection between all this somewhere.
    - And it's not a good one either. Look, Susan, when we get there you'd better drop me off and go on back to town.
    - And leave you alone?
    - Well, there's no telling what I might run into.
    - Well, we'll run into it together. You might need help, and I'm good at screaming.

    - I heard something.
    - It's my heart pounding.
    - It came from over there somewhere. Stay close to me.

[Needed to keep my head down after what happened back in London. So I grabbed my fake passports, and dicky credit cards, rode straight to airport and hopped on the first flight to anywhere, which turned out to be Malta, which was great for a bit of the old soul searching. I've got to confess, though, I was a bit pissed off when I found out that Maltesers weren't even from here, and they don't even bleedin' sell 'em. Which is bullshit]

    7bWTbe1.jpg

    - You destroyed what took me decades to build. For that you're gonna pay. You brought me out of retirement. I'm actually down here for a gig. And the fact that here happens to be Malta and I can "catch up" with me mates it's actually a little brucie bonus.

    - It was you, wasn't it? Listen, Ray, you need to bail on this Zuuzer kid job, right? They thought it was me that tampered with that gas line 'cause you tried to make it look like an accident. Now they've got Fred held hostage. Anything happens to that kid, they're going to kill Fred. I don't know why you took the job in the first place. Anyway, if you've done your due diligence, you would've known why we passed on it. Why everybody fucking passed on it. He's the heir to the Zuuzer family, for God's sakes.

    - Well, a mark's a mark, a job's a job. And I ain't scared of any crime family from the arse end of nowhere. There was a time when we didn't give two shits who the mark was? Well, that was before your little hissy fit.

    - The only thing you need to give a shit about right now is Mrs. Zuuzer, 'cause she will slit Fred's throat if you don't call off this hit.

    - You haven't heard, have you? Well, the client has upped the bounty by fucking loads. I ain't the sole contractor anymore.···Everyone worth their salt. Criminal crop just landed on Maltese soil. Called us all in for a briefing. I can't remember a client ever being arrogant enough to do that. But I guess money talks. Pays 50 grand just to turn up in person. It's a massive nine million euros to the lucky sod who gets the job done. So... looks like Fred's fucked, because if I don't do it, you can rest assured one of the others will.···It turns out that little twerp has already got a fucking tracking device on him. Client's sending over the link now. So you better get your skates on. 'Cause there's a proper game on.

    RxnzroV.jpg

    - Listen, right, I ain't a fucking babysitter, okay? I'm a professional killer. And with all due respect, Mrs. Zuuzer, your son is an absolute twat.

    - You don't need to get along. You just need to neutralize the threats and keep him alive. If you ever want to see your friend again, you won't make that mistake. Bring him back to me in one piece. Do we have a deal, Mr. Accident Man?

    - Two hours late, and they give a feeble, phony excuse, too contemptuous even to invent a good alibi!
    - They apologized. People do get stuck in traffic.
    - Apology, hell ! They just find out about traffic jams? After 40 years here, they should know. No, being late shows you're rich, and when you're famous, like him, it's nearly obligatory. You make 'em wait, then appear to the multitude.
    - They both flatly apologized. That should satisfy you. And they're only an hour and a quarter late, not two hours.
    - OK, say an hour and 22 minutes. That's still late!

You were like that in the old days: all alone on your rock, with the truth under your arm, always judging people. Ten years later you're in the same spot. You haven't moved an inch. The world is as cowardly and corrupt as ever, eh? It's an old tune, don't you think?
    - It's the only one I know. If you'd said yes ten years ago, you might be with me on my rock.
    ........................................................
    - I took him aside, I spoke to him each time he got up. When the game got rough, he said not to worry. Each time I told him to quit, he just laughed ! To him our anxiety is hilarious!
    - They've both gone crazy.
    - You saw it: when they decided to play for money, I read them the riot act! And left. I saw it coming. I didn't want it to get nasty. I had even warned him. "Play for matches, Fred ! Friendly poker!"
    ........................................................
    - I don't know what's got into you tonight. First you were all worked up, now you're acting as if you'd been wounded, somehow. You're fed up with everything. What's going on?
    - No it's me, my life. I'm sick of this dull life.
    - Did it suddenly hit you tonight, wanting to be at the heart of things? It's just a bout of depression. Happens to all of us. All of a sudden, nothing makes sense, one has no purpose. It happens without warning. It descends on you. I think it is a passing thing.

"This is Shawn Ruddy, coming to you live from Death Manor. No matter what happens to me, I am committed to bringing you the most cinematic experience in live streaming"

"Death Manor was built in 1880 by a wealthy Mormon pioneer for his social outcast daughter, a poet named Mildred Pratt. Mildred would later commit suicide and become the first of many deaths in this house. After Mildred's death, 11 more people died in this house before it was finally boarded up in 1956. Mildred lived here for eight years in this house, writing poems about the romantic love she didn't have. A tortured artist, you could say. But she was finally hit with a stroke of luck when a handsome, wealthy publisher from the East Coast named Lars Jorgensen passed through her small town. They fell in love, and for two years, they wrote each other love letters almost every day. After writing each other letters for two years, Lars asked Mildred to marry him and move to Boston. She was finally about to leave what she called "this stinky little town." But just two days before she was supposed to move, Lars unexpectedly died. She hung herself the next day at the end of this hall. And legend has it that everyone who died after her is still in this house. Why? Because Mildred is collecting souls to create the family she could never have in life"

"Tonight, we're going to be monitoring three rooms, all of which have actual documented paranormal activity. The first room, the master bedroom. This room has two separate reports of the same ghost who I like to call Corner Man. In 1910, a man named Max Loland wrote about a reoccurring dream he had while sleeping in this room. 'In my dreams, I wake up and see a very tall man in the north corner of my room. I can't see his face, but I know he's watching me. And he always whispers the same thing "the pond water still' One year later, Max Loland died in his sleep. The second floor is the real paranormal G-spot in this house. The nursery. From what I found in my research, five children have died in this room. Last room. The bathroom. The last death that I could find happened in this bathtub in 1955"

    oW5jghB.jpg

"[Nothing changes. I am still, still, still. I am like the pond water. The pond water is still!] Pond water! That's what the ghosts keep repeating. She's forcing them to memorize her poetry. She's like me. She wants an audience. She kept trying to get me to read her poems. And her fiancé was a publisher. She's not creating a family. She's building a following. And I bet the more souls she collects, the more powerful she becomes. And what can hurt someone like me? Copy strike, a copy strike! Remember when I did that sewer surfing video, and I started singing 'Surfin USA'? Well, the Beach Boys record label put a copy strike on it and claimed all my money for that video. What if I put a copy strike on Mildred? If I can do this same unholy hand ritual that she did, I can claim her revenue, her power source.. Let's de-monetize this bitch."

"What's going on here? Where did everybody go? And why didn't we go with them?"

    39hPDau.jpg

    - They do more than get them. They get them and they eat them. They tear into those lazy little boys with their dry, hungry, chomping teeth.

    - No, Daddy, don't let the Langoliers get me.

    - I don't want my job and I don't want my life. Since I was five years old, you've been loading on the pressure. Seeing if you could make me explode. I want out! I want out! Why can't you love me and leave me alone?

    - Love is not part of the big picture. Now, are you gonna look at the big picture? Or do I have to let them have you? They'll be back for you, you lazy sack of dirt. Craiggy-weggy, they are gonna chew the eyes right out of your head.

    - Daddy, no. Make them go. Just make them go away, make them go away.

    ZB8rLec.jpg

    - Mr. Toomey, are you listening to me?

    - Of course I'm listening, and I know what happened to everybody here. These stupid, lazy people! The Langoliers got them.

    *
In The Langoliers, Mr. Toomey obsessively tears paper to overcome the traumatic events and literal monsters of his childhood. In The Timekeepers, the tears and creases of photocopied paper transform into a living collage where the filmmaker and protagonist slowly merge with a common goal to make sense of the paper nightmare.

    - Mr. Bun. I'm Ho, from the Regional Crime Unit.
    - Do I know you?
    - Five years ago, I worked for you for two days. I want your opinion on a case.
    - What's the case?
    - Have you heard about Officer Wong's disappearance? Eighteen months ago, Wong and his partner, Chi wai, pursued a thief into the forest. Wong disappeared with his gun. But Chi wai survived. A few months later, several armed robberies took place. Two of which resulted in murders. The bullets fired matched Wong's gun. I've been investigating for months. Found nothing.
    - Why should I help you? You're a cop. I'm not. If you can't solve it, how can I?
    - I've read all your cases. Whenever I get stuck, I think about you. Last year, my gun broke. I was issued this one. It used to belong to you. I think of you as my master.

    SOAxBPE.jpg

"Chi wai has seven inner personalities! One of them is deadly. The woman is the brain. The fatso is a glutton and a coward! I've never seen so many personalities. Chi wai is a complex person! Why did the fatso say... they can't fire the gun? You brought my gun to me. The gun plays a critical role in this case"

    rDdPnOE.jpg

    - So, Bun is your partner. Didn't he cut off his ear? Why ask him for help?
    - He used to be a great detective.
    - Why does he suspect me?
    - He said he could see a person's inner personalities. He said you have seven.
    - What about you? What did he see in you?
    - A scared boy.

    tbaGnPI.jpg

"Chi wai killed his partner Wong. He's holding Wong's gun. The Indian is holding Chi wai's gun. When Chi wai gets his gun back, he'll kill the Indian and you"

    - I'm not through with you. Your daughter ran out between two parked cars. I couldn't see her.

    - Why wasn't you watching, white man from town?

    - Doing this to me won't bring your daughter back. Duncan Hopley is dead. So is Cary Rossington. Neither of them brought your daughter back.

    - Justice ain't about bringing back the dead, white man. Justice is about justice! Your friends, the policeman and the judge make sure nothing happen to you, they keep you safe. But I make sure something happen to them. That justice, white man. Gypsy justice.

    - You know as much about justice as I know about turbine engines. Now take your fucking curse off of me!

    - I never take it off. I die with it in me mouth. I make it so much worse, you think I bless you the first time. Get out of here!

    0zqoVZH.jpg

    - Okay, I'll go but not before I curse you and everybody I see by the light of this fire! The curse of the white man from town! That's right, laugh. Laugh now, cry later when this all is at your feet! You want to see what the white man from town can do when he puts his mind to Look at this! The curse of the white man from town. is on you, pal. They don't write about it in books, but it is on you.

    9iEKtgC.jpg

    - Your dreams smell bad to me. They stink. Maybe you think you're still dreaming, huh? White man from town? You kill my daughter, and you get off. For that you deserve to die, so I curse you! But now, I got to do this so your crazy friend don't hurt my Galina. Already he kill her husband. You want to get rid of the curse? First, you've got to give it to this pie. Then you give this pie. With the curse inside, to somebody else. Everyone who eat pie die quick and bad. You got somebody?

    - Yes. Get away from me. Our business is done.

    - I'm a little scared of you. Actually, I'm really bad at investigating cases. I don't have a detective's brain. So I really envy the senior detectives who can solve the case just by thinking about it. You're really amazing. You're blind, you can't see anything. I really admire you. No doubt you're my idol.···

    - ···To crack a case, one must have an imaginative mind. You have to make good use of the Brodman areas thirty seventh, thirty ninth and forty of the cerebral cortex.···When I investigate the case, I just put myself into the situation of the persons involved in the case and then make a wild guess.···

    - ···My parents were very opposed to me being a police officer, but I didn't care because I really wanted to find Minnie, and I really couldn't let it go. I always felt that her disappearance was my fault···

    - ···After I went blind, I kept thinking, why did God want me to be blind? ?.. Later I realized that... may be.. I went blind to investigate old cases that were ignored, and bring the murderers who are on the loose to justice.

    - Minnie is my junior 3 years younger, she was in Grade 7. She was living in a foster family. She's a bit weird. Low self esteem, unsociable, friendless. The boys always bullied her I'd always defend her. Maybe that's why we became good friends. She used to follow me home after school. We played and did everything together.

    - Get to the point.

    - One day. She told me in tears that she was afraid she'd be like her grandma and mom who killed for love. Turned out her father had an affair shortly after her birth. Her mother was so angry that she murdered him. And preserved his body in salt. She was raised by her grandma. When she was in elementary school, her grandma became some guy's mistress. The guy was a creep. He refused to divorce his wife and dumped grandma. Infuriated, grandma murdered the guy. She even deep fried his body.

    - You were shocked by the story and distanced yourself from Minnie?

    - It's only natural. I avoided her. But she came and waited for me. Right where you're standing. She waited for the whole night. I was absolutely horrified. I hid myself behind the window. On thinking back she must have been heart broken. But I was really scared. I dared not come down. I never did. After standing there for 5 nights she disappeared.

    - She's just a little girl. Where could she go? She's been missing for over a decade. The truth can be very harsh. You sure wanna find out?

    - Yes. I want to look for her.···Will you help me investigate the case??

    - Yes, but it'll be costly $1M.···I'm not used to work out of home. I've never traveled, but your case isn't that simple. I'll move here and experience it. No extra charge.

    TPpLh59.jpg

    - She was dumped by her boyfriend and disappeared on the same night. What has that to do with Minnie?

    - Wasn't Minnie kind of heartbroken before she disappeared?

    - Yes.

    - There lies the similarity. Heartbroken and disappeared...

    - You mean there might be a psychotic serial killer who targeted at heartbroken women?
