    Thunderbolt and Lightfoot 1974

    - What's your name, boy?
    - Lightfoot.
    - You Indian?
    - Nope, just American. You ain't no country preacher, preacher. I can tell ya that. Who are ya?
    - Where are the license plates for that thing?
    - Don't have any. I bagged it short of about five minutes before I ran into you. Almost ran into you
    ........................................

    - Now, the newest bank vaults have walls of reinforced concrete five feet thick, backed by six inches of steel. The vault door is stainless steel-faced. It's an inch and a half of cast steel, another 12 inches of burn-resisting steel, and another inch and a half of open-hearthed steel. A vault door has 20 bolts, each an inch in diameter. Eight on each side, eight on the other, two top and two bottom. This holds the door into a 16-inch steel jamb set in 18 inches of concrete which is crosshatched by steel bars running both vertical and horizontal. Now, this door is precision-made so you can't pour nitro in between the seam of the door and the vault. If that isn't enough, there's microphones, electric eyes, pressure-sensitive mats, vibration detectors, tear gas, and even thermostats that detect the slightest rise in temperature. You still interested in banks, kid?

    - I knew you weren't a preacher.

    - Preaching isn't so bad. You get used to it. Uh, you are what you do, so to speak. At times I even forgot about the money.

    - What money?

    - Montana Armored.

    - Montana Armored? How did you get into the vault?

    - Cannon with armor-piercing shells*. Wasn't too hard.

    - Hey, that was on the news. That was a big deal. What did they call that guy? The Thunderbolt. That's you. You're the Thunderbolt.
    ........................................

    - So, who are these guys that are following us? ·· So, What happened to the money ?

"You recognize this man? He's escaped from the insane asylum. Seven years ago, he murdered two children. Broke into the house and found them asleep in bed. It was a little boy, four and a half, and his little three-year-old sister. After the coroner's investigation, the bodies were taken to the mortuary, where the undertaker took one look at them and said their bodies couldn't be reconstructed for the burial without six days of steady work. Then he asked what had been the murder weapon, because looking at the mess in front of him he couldn't imagine what had been used. The coroner told him there had been no murder weapon. The killer had used only his hands."
    ............................................

    - Can you see me?
    - Yes.
    - Sorry I turned the lights down.
    - I'll turn them back up if you like.
    - No. Don't.
    - Don't?
    - You really scared me. If that's what you wanted. Is that what you wanted?
    - No.
    - What do you want?
    - Your blood. All over me.
    ............................................

"Nobody can see me any more. Nobody can hear me. No one touches me. I'm not here. I don't exist. I was never born."

"I believe her. The incident five years ago was more than a harassment thing. Two children disappeared and they haven't been found yet, dead or alive. Yes, she does have a psychiatric record, and a pretty extensive one. She was responsible for those children and she barely escaped with her own life. I would be willing to bet that her apartment is pretty bare. Not cluttered. You would know if a book had been moved. You know exactly how many socks you have in a drawer. How many matches are in the box by the stove. You don't mistake those things and the terrifying thing is, apparently 'He' knows you don't."
    ............................................

    - Go away! Leave me alone! Please!
    - Listen to me very carefully. You don't live here, do you? You're just a babysitter. Have you been upstairs in the last five minutes?
    - Why?
    - I don't think you're alone in this house*. Someone's upstairs. I've seen them moving around through the windows. You should get out of there now. Come on out, Julia.
    - I never told you my name!
    - Don't stay in there. I'm warning you
    - Where are you? What have you done with them (children) ?
    - I'm hiding. In the bushes.
    - What? Why?
    - He's in there with you.
    ............................................

"We live our lives in a land of mirrors, don't we? Everyone we meet, everything we see and feel, from the blank ceiling above our heads to the eyes averted on the street to the close, They tell us who we are. Without them, you become like me. I'm not a reflection of anything. I am not an illusion. I am the truth. I'm invisible. Unknowable. You people are the real illusionists. You people are the real illusionists!"

Because if that's what you want, you can stop now because it really worked. ······ But you don't know who I am, or where I live. ······ Please, I mean, there has to be a reason why you keep on calling me. ..............................................

    - My father died.
    - So where will the funeral be?
    - Mother wants it to be in Izu.
    - At our house?
    - Yes.
    - She can't be serious! Never! I don't want it held there! Why does she want it there?
    - Won't the relatives object?
    - She says no. And she hates the thought of imposing on them.
    - A funeral at our old house?
    - Come on. Please.
    - It's amazing. He just died, and we're already discussing his funeral.
    - I know you don't like it, but it can't be helped.
    - After all, he's your father too. Your father-in-law.

    - Who says I can't? I'm only doing my job. Some people are bullfighters. Some people are politicians. I'm a photographer.
    - This is a public place. Everyone has the right to be left in peace.
    - It's not my fault if there's no peace.
    - You know, most girls would pay me to photograph them.
