in simple,

Dual Core = 2 Processors (not physically)

Core2Duo = Intel's CPU

PS: C2D is also a DualCore Processor

It seems most ppl suck with naming and branding conventions
ok simple english will do the trick!

Pentium4 HT -Duplicates several sections of the CPU and acts as it was a multiple cpu system,remember its still only single core(cpu)

Pentium D- 2 pentium cpus welded

Core2Duo-> ("Core2"This is the brand name just like Pentium,Core1 P) was out there but most ppl are not aware of it since it was for Laptop CPUs)-Duo says it has 2 cores

Core2Quad -same as above but has 4 cores

Pentium Dual-Core- >most of the ppl call this just "Dual-Core",but its better to state the Pentium moniker when u talk abt this Pentium Dual-Core(Remember Pentium D and Pentium Dual-Core are completely different CPUs, Pentium D is crap + Older tech and Pentium Dual-Core is newer and relatively mush faster(based on Core2)

So priority goes as follows
Pentium HT << Pentium D(2 cores/cpus) << Pentium Dual-Core(2 cores/cpus) << Core2 Duo (2 cores/cpus) <<Core2 Quad(4 cpus/cores)

to play both on decent settings u will need 9600 GT/GSO @ minimum

As far as i know 9600GSO is a re badged 8800GS with 192bit memory bus(which is slower than 9600GT)

8600GT, Very High Quality in Crysis definitely below 8fps!!
