additionally, I guess Dual core has 2 cache memories and C2D has one cache(normally a big one) memory which is better than hving 2. cuz da processor can directly access cache data(which is fast) than separately looking for 2 caches(which is slow);

Anusha, I will run those tests and see whether what's the problem is. And My HDD doesn't have a IDE cable It's a SATA disk.

since we are also talking about problems also, I am currently having a very unpleasant problem,

My home system configuration as follows:
Main board : Foxconn P4M800P7MA
RAM : 1G DDR2
Processor : 3GHz PIV HT
VGA : Asus N7600GS
Has 2 Hard disk drives + 1 DVD RW
Stock Power supply

The problem is my system freezes when I play a game. At first it kept freezing very badly so I cleaned applied new thermal paste to CPU heat sink and it seems to be working for few months.

When I turned it on yesterday morning it froze just when I started my browser, and It happened twice and then I just tried disconnecting and re-connecting motherboard power supply and after that It worked and still it keeps freezing when a game is loaded.

Currently according to this mess I can't figure out what is the issue going on, may be is that due to insufficient power?

Any help is appreciated.

format and install the OS disc is enough, after instaling OS u need to install MB drivers, sound card drivers (provided by supliar)

His need is to play Crysis like games... the least I can recommend personally is 9600GT.... the requirements for such games only going to increase, they will not decrease.. if you buy a 8600GT then your VGA will be virtually obsolete in about another 6 months for Graphic Heavy Games like Crysis... remember... Crysis 2 gonna come out too...

But all this possible out of SL only... I dont know about SL prices... funny thing is people have access to all the cutting edge games but not hardware!! What to do!!

cutting edge games = 250Rs

hardware(mostly VGA and Prosesser) = three 0 to five 0 numbers
