That's not the actual problem :P,

(7788 is the SMS port number of Sirasa Super Star)
Sirasa Network's 7788 Port had ultimate data traffic incoming,
Because there was thousands of SMS messages were recieving in every second yesterday.

    This is a normal thing..

Well- Let's take out an example :
    Lets say Dialog,
If every customer of Dialog tries to make calls or send SMSes at the same time (like when that Tsunami alert comes) System gets crashed and stucked due to heavy access traffic.. Then calls wont connect / SMSes wont deliver. It's like our SMS is waiting in the que, cant go near to reach her/his phone (In this case it's the SSS SMS Port/Server), coz lots of SMSes are in front of him ;)

That is the thing which actually happens,
And, Pradeepta th Surendrata th wena wenama kiyala naa..
The SMS waits in que to go to 7788
And when it reaches the time-out period,
    It wont get delivered.

    This is a usual happening,
    And Surendra/Pradeep kiyala wisheshayak naa
    Superstar kiyala wisheshayakuth naa
Even, Sirasa 7788 number eka kiyala wisheshayakuth naa

Ona welawaka, Onema network ekaka oka wenna puluwan,
Welath thiyenawa meeta kalin.. :D

(Example : Awurudu Day, New Year, 31st Night, Tsunami Alert day etc;)

    MMM.. They can,
Then there should be two numbers,
like 7788 for Pradeep and 7789 for Surendra i.e

Lets say it's 7788 for Pradeep and 7789 for Surendra,
But the problem is it will be the same..
Coz if the traffic is too high on servers then SMS won't reach 7788 nor 7789 even

Normally SSS SMS Port 7788 is handled by Dialog
If number of ports from Mobitel, Tigo, Hutch to Dialog server is filled with users (SMSes),
Then SMS won't reach Dialog server.

Dialog server re-directs the SMS to 7788 or 7789 port just when it recieves the message.
That's how the SMS system works.
Then it will not reach the 7788 or 7789 coz it didn't reach the Dialog server

As I know, Dialog has a SEPERATE server for short code numbers
(like 7788). Or else the problem will get worst. Lets say if they combine the 7788 server with 0775xxxxxx numbers, then any of the customers who has 0775xxxxxx numbers will not recieve 99% of their SMSes during SSS night and traffic will get worst (the data traffic of 0775xxxxxx users will also be added).

Ever tried sending a SMS on the 31st night or New Year Day :) ?
And at here, Yesterday, Even if u try sending a SMS to someone other than SSS, who has a Dialog number.. Ratio of not delivering of that message is high. But that ratio is not that high coz they use a seperate server to avoid ultimate traffic and conjestions.

If they wants to solve this issue,
They have to maximize connections everywhere + maximize servers.
That's not practical. And Expensive too. And everyother networks have to do the same.

    Hope u got it :)

I ment by traffic : Amount of data transfered :)

Yes thats coz its a direct line.
I think u have sent that message when there was no high usage,(the time sent the message there was a low traffic)

Like when u send a message to SLT Landline numbers you get that speed too  :)
