Major Sampath Thanthirige:

Sri Lanka stepped up security following the assasination of the number three officer in the army by a suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber who also killed himself and three others when he rammed the 54-year-old general's car with his motorcycle in 2006
Lt. Col. Anurasiri Ranatunga:
Lt. Col. Anurasiri was killed together with five other soldiers during an offensive against Tamil Tiger rebels in the east of Sri Lanka in 2007
Flying Lieutenant Sajith Siyambalapitiya:
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) rebels killed 13 servicemen including Flying Lieutenat Siyambalapitiya at the Anuradhapura military base 22 October 2007
Colonel Jayantha Suraweera:
Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels shot dead four army personnel including Colonel Jayantha and four park officials inside the Wilpattu Wild Life Sanctuary 09 March 2007
Lt. Colonel Lalith Jayasinghe:
Jayasinghe was killed in November 2008, during a reconnaissance mission in LTTE held territory. Leading an eight man Special Forces team, he had infiltrated thirty kilometers into the Oddusudan area in enemy territory and conducted an assault. After completing the first assault, the team had been moving on to a second target when they were discovered by LTTE cadres. Jayasinghe was wounded in the ensuing firefight, and his team retreated to a safer location with their wounded team leader. They were discovered again by the LTTE, and in the second firefight Jayasinghe was killed, while another member of the eight man team was wounded.

Major Ajeth Gamage:
Major Gamage lead an assault against Tamil Tiger rebels on April 20, 2009 to breach guerrilla defences that led to the mass exodus of civilians from the remaining rebel-held areas.
