Isco slams UEFA treatment of Malaga

    280976_heroa.jpg

The 21-year-old has accused European football's governing body of "embarrassing" double-standards after the Liga side's ban from continental competition was upheld.Malaga starlet Isco has slammed UEFA's "embarrassing and shabby" decision to uphold the club's ban from European competition.

On Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the initial sanction imposed by European football's governing body which suspends Los Boquerones from competing in the UEFA Champions League or Europa League after they failed to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.

Isco, who is currently on Spain Under-21 duty in the European championship in Israel, has accused UEFA of being more severe with Malaga than it would be with other clubs who commited the same offenses.

"It is embarrassing and shabby. It is completely unfair that they have treated Malaga different than many other teams with many more irregularities and debts," Isco wrote on his Twitter account. "They have taken away what we have earned on the field. Neither the players nor fans deserve this. I have no more to say."

The Andalusians, whose sixth-placed finish in the Liga standings last season would have seen them gain entry to the Europa League, will now be stripped of their place in favor of either Sevilla or Rayo Vallecano.

Perez warns Juventus: 30 million euro bid for Higuain is a waste of time

The Blancos chief insists the Italian champions must table a significant offer in order to secure the services of the want-away striker.Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has advised Juventus to offer in excess of 30 million euros for Gonzalo Higuain or "don't bother showing up."

The Argentina international is said to be itching for a move away from the Bernabeu this summer, with the Bianconeri and Arsenal both understood to be keen on adding the 25-year-old to their ranks this summer.

The Italian champions are believed to be leading the hunt for the want-away striker, with club officials reportedly preparing to table a 22 million euro bid, but Perez has warned that such an offer would not even be given time of day in the Spanish capital.

"If Juventus are thinking about offering 30 million euros for him then it would be better if they don’t even turn up, because that will not be enough," Perez told Mediaset. "But we have not yet received any offers for Gonzalo and that is including Juventus."

Moratti: 'Guarin and Ranocchia going nowhere'

The Nerazzurri chief says is he fully expecting to keep hold of the duo despite rumours linking them away from San Siro this summer Inter president Massimo Moratti has vowed to retain the services of both Andrea Ranocchia and Fredy Guarin beyond this summer.

The Serie A champion has been credited with an interest in defender Ranocchia in the close season, while the future of midfielder Guarin remains in doubt after an inconsistent campaign with the Nerazzurri, despite the player himself affirming his commitment to the side.

However, Moratti says he expects both to remain at San Siro for next season as the club look to kick on from a dismal campaign in 2012-13.

"Yes, I think we can rule out a Ranocchia departure," he told the club's official website. "The defencs is an area where we really need to strengthen and he is one of the best defenders in the country, and he's an Italy international.

"It is great that Guarin has said he wants to stay and he's a player who has such quality that he is one of the most sought-after players in the market, and we'll looking to him to go forward," he added.

Galliani refuses to rule out El Shaarawy exit

The AC Milan CEO says the young forward is the subject of plenty of interest but denies the club is in negotiations to sign Carlos Tevez AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has refused to confirm that Stephan El Shaarawy will say at the club past the summer.

The young striker helped the club to a top-three finish with some fine early-season performances but faded badly in the second half of the campaign.

The likes of Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the player and the 68-year-old hinted that he could be sold.

"El Shaarawy is the Milan player with the most requests," he told Sky Italia. "He's not unsellable because everything can happen in the transfer market."

Meanwhile, Galliani has denied recent reports that the club are in talks with City star Carlos Tevez.

"There are no negotiations with Tevez," he added.

Finally, Galliani claimed that Kevin-Prince Boateng has not requested a move away from San Siro, adding: "Boateng did not ask to be sold."

    Galliani confirms Ambrosini exit

The veteran midfielder's 18-year stay at AC Milan will be coming to an end when his contract expires, with Riccardo Montolivo set to replace him as captain.
AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has confirmed that club captain Massimo Ambrosini will leave San Siro once his contract expires in June.

The 36-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Cesena back in 1995 and has been at the club ever since, barring a loan spell at Vicenza in 1997-98.

He was named skipper in 2009 following the departure of defensive stalwart Paolo Maldini but his time at the Giuseppe Meazza has now come to an end.

"Milan will part ways with Ambrosini," Galliani told Sky Italia.

"Our next captain, if [Christian] Abbiati agrees, will be [Riccardo] Montolivo."

Van Persie: Team comes before records

    287844_heroa.jpg

The Netherlands striker went third in Oranje's all-time scorers list but insists that he is only focused on winning matches as a collective.Netherlands striker Robin van Persie says that personal landmarks are not as important to him as the team's success.

The Manchester United star netted his 35th Oranje goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over 10-man China and now sits just five strikes behind all-time top scorer Patrick Kluivert.

However, the 29-year-old has insisted that he is only focused on helping his side and was happy with the workout in Beijing.

"The fact that I made my 35th goal isn't that important. It's a nice extra but we have to focus on our matches," he told SBS6. "It sounds weird, but we didn't hope for [the red card]. We wanted to make a real contest of this match."

Van Persie is now off duty until Manchester United meets up in Australia in July and the striker said he welcomes the break.

"Now I'm going to enjoy my vacation and I can really use one," he continued. "It's not very long but I do look forward to it. In the first week of July I have to travel to Australia on my own. I don't want to think about that now.”

Winger Arjen Robben added that he had found his nation's tour of the Far East very helpful.

"It was a very useful trip for us, because the circumstances were difficult and we had to adapt to that."

    Benzema rules out Madrid exit

The French striker says he is not interested in a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu as he wants to stay and fight for trophies in years to come.Karim Benzema has insisted that he will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer but admitted that he was disappointed with his 2012-13 campaign.

The Frenchman endured a disappointing season, failing to nail down a regular starting spot but says he is eager to stay and fight for trophies with the capital club.
"Of course I'm staying. I'm happy at Real Madrid and I'm not going to leave," he told Marca. "I'm eager to win titles, but I think we all need to disconnect a bit."
Madrid ended Jose Mourinho's final term at the Bernabeu without any trophies and Benzema went on to say that he was also disappointed with his own contribution to the cause, but urged fans to keep backing the teem.

"It wasn't like the previous one. I finished last season with 30 goals and only managed 20 this time," he continued.

"Keep supporting us as always and next season we'll give our all and try to win domestic titles and of course the Champions League."
Madrid finished second to Barcelona in La Liga, was eliminated in the last four of the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund and lost in the Copa del Rey final to Atletico.

    Suarez reiterates Real Madrid desire

The Uruguayan has grown disillusioned with life in the Premier League following a string of controversies and would welcome a summer move to the Santiago Bernabeu Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has admitted it would be a "dream" to play for Real Madrid, and once again slammed the English media for what he deems unfair treatment.

The Uruguay international, currently in South America for the Confederations Cup, had earlier stated that he would like to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Spanish capital.

And in a second interview, the 26-year-old has reiterated his desire to leave the Premier League while refusing to rule out a move to Madrid.

"Any player would like to play for a great team and Real Madrid certainly are that," Suarez told television show RR Gol. "Every player wants to reach the very top and Real Madrid are at the very top, but everything that has been said is just rumors, I have had nothing concrete."

He added, "Obviously Real Madrid is a great team and every player dreams about them; Real Madrid is Real Madrid and it's as high as you can go as a player and they will always tempt you. I'm not sure if I see myself in the white [Madrid], the only thing I know is that I have a contract."

Suarez, who is currently serving a domestic suspension for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, is adamant he wants to leave Anfield because of his harsh treatment by the British press.

"Ever since I arrived I have felt bad, they have never judged me for my play but with the attitude that I dive, protest, makes gesture, racism... everything," Suarez said.

"They have never spoken well of me. For that reason, when I was told I could win the Player of the Year award, I said: 'I will not get excited as I know that I will never win an important award in England.'"

The 26-year-old also slammed the length of his racism ban compared to that of John Terry, who received half the punishment for an incident involving Anton Ferdinand, and believes he can never forgive or forget his harsh treatment despite his love for Liverpool.

"Without any proof they gave me an eight-match ban, but with Terry, where they had proof, lip-readers, they gave him four, I'm South American and I think that's the root of all of this," Suarez continued.

"Liverpool is a club that I dreamed about playing for as a boy. I have been with great players there, they know me and I would love to continue for many more years at Liverpool. The stadium is spectacular, the fans are phenomenal: people with tattoos of me, things that I could never have imagined.

"After the [Evra] suspension people would come up to me, this is something that really touched me and they would say: 'Luis forget everything and stay.' But I can't forget as it was something that I had to suffer, that my family had to suffer and away from football I have a family to support and who are hurt by these things."

Suarez went on to describe one such example of his family being subjected to abuse, describing a shopping trip that almost brought his family to tears.

"About a week ago I was walking in a shopping center near Manchester and three or four guys asked me for a photo," he revealed. "While we were posing for it my wife said to me "Luis, get out of the photo". She noticed they were making biting gestures. I was with my wife and my daughter. Things like that get on your nerves. My wife was on the brink of tears and the blokes ran off laughing. You get tired of stuff like that."

Kagawa hoping to emulate Rooney and Van Persie

    279944_heroa.jpg

The former BVB man wants to boost his confidence and become an influential figure at Man United after a successful but unspectacular first year in England
Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa wants to focus his efforts on becoming a more influential figure at Old Trafford next season.

The Japan international midfielder was rotated in and out of the Red Devils side last season, partly due to injuries, as they charged towards their 13th Premier League title.

The 24-year-old did not make the impact he would have liked during his maiden campaign in a United shirt nd has vowed to kick on in the new era of David Moyes's management.

"I wasn't satisfied with my overall performance but I played well in the second half of the season and started to get more and more confidence," Kagawa told Sports Illustrated. "Hopefully, I can keep that going at the Confederations Cup."

He added, "In this business, you need to be like Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie and prove yourself if you want the ball. I want to be a player like them, which means I need results."

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder made 26 appearances in his first season at Old Trafford, finding the back of the net six times.

Florentino Perez hints at future Real Madrid bid for Bale

    281808_heroa.jpg

The Spanish side's president says that the club is willing to fund a big-money move for the Wales forward but must first wait for a new coach to be installed.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says that a mega-money move for Tottenham star Gareth Bale could be in the pipeline once the club hires a new coach.

The 66-year-old, who assembled the original 'Galacticos' at the Santiago Bernabeu, has long been an admirer of the Spurs forward and says that an expensive swoop would be viable because, over time, it would pay for itself, but that any possible bid this summer will have to wait as the Liga runner-up goes about appointing Jose Mourinho's successor.

"Madrid always want the best. Tottenham is a very amicable club but first we must see who our new coach will be and after that we will begin to arrange our new squad," Perez told Marca.

"I think the same as if we were to have a tennis team and Rafael Nadal asked me for these millions. For players like this, the investment they generate you and the revenue they produce, you can give everything to try and get them. I demonstrated in 2000 that, with players like this, you can change the dynamic, going from losing to winning. Then you have to look carefully at the player involved.

"We are not going to talk too much about Bale because he plays at a very amicable club and they will be annoyed by too much talk about him. I know their chairman well and he doesn't like things like that. But, I repeat, we have a long list but there will be one particular player, of course."

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has also made headlines as the disgruntled forward attracts interest from Juventus and Arsenal. Perez insists that nothing has been agreed on that front and warns that the Argentine will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

"To date no team has told us of his interest in Higuain. I do not know what will happen tomorrow," he noted.

Mourinho: Rooney is like me and should do what makes him happy

The striker has attempted to leave Old Trafford but the Portuguese would not be drawn on whether or not he will move for the England international Wayne Rooney should leave Manchester United if it makes him happy, according to new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The striker has twice had transfer requests rejected by the Premier League champions and his future is uncertain following the arrival of David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Goal understands that Arsenal is seriously interested in Rooney, who has held talks with at least two clubs over a potential move this summer, with Chelsea also among his suitors. Mourinho thinks that the England international will be motivated in his decision to leave by ambition, rather than money.

"I think he is at a fantastic age for a player: maturity, big experience, still young," the Portuguese told reporters. "It's up to him and what he wants, what makes him happy.

"He's a little bit like me: he doesn't need one more pound in his contract. One more cup won't make a difference. Be happy.

"Where is he happy? Where will he find more happiness to have ambition and drive him? I like him as a boy. I wish him well and hope he is happy."

However, Mourinho would not be drawn on whether or not he will attempt to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge.

"I learned a few things," he continued. "One of them is I don't comment on players from other teams. No chance. No chance."

Lionel Messi and his father have reportedly been served with a complaint by Spanish tax authorities who claim the duo did not pay millions of euros owed in taxes.A report in Barcelona's El Periodico newspaper claims that Messi and his father Jorge hid revenues related to the player's image rights in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The suit was presented before a judge on Wednesday morning in the Catalan town of Gava, where the Barcelona player is legally domiciled for tax purposes.

    Dortmund stand firm on Lewi

    robertlewandowskithought_576x324.jpg

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has been told that the club did not promise him a move to Bayern Munich this summer, but added he is free to join the European champions next year on a free transfer if he wishes.

Since the two clubs met in the Champions League final last month the Lewandowski saga has taken a bitter turn and now has all the ingredients for an ugly end for at least one of the parties involved. At the weekend, Dortmund had hoped to put an end to the saga when they put their foot down on Lewandowski's planned exit this summer. Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc and CEO Aki Watzke both said the player will not be allowed to join Bundesliga rivals and revealed they are also yet to receive an offer for the player.

The calm lasted a couple of hours. Speculation about a possible transfer to either Spain or England, with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly interested, were discussed in international media and - talking to the press in Poland - Lewandowski stated he was rather surprised to hear about the news from Dortmund."He [Watzke] recently told me something different. He knows what I wish for," Lewandowski said. “Everyone at Borussia Dortmund knows what I want and where I want to go to."

Later on Monday a disgruntled Zorc told local paper Ruhr Nachrichten: "Such a promise to Robert has never existed. He then put the ball back into Lewandowski’s court and said: “We have said everything that had to be said."
In an interview with Die Welt on Tuesday, Watzke then explained that the best course of action for Lewandowski is for him to concentrate on Dortmund before signing for Bayern next summer."I can understand he is disappointed. If I was him I’d also be disappointed to hear about FC Bayern not making an offer for him," Watzke said.

"What I expect from him now is to show the strength in character he has shown over the past years and cope with the situation on a professional level. I am confident that he will do so. 2014, when his contract runs out, he is welcome to join Munich."He again opened the door for a possible exit to another club, adding: "I can only call off the wish I know about. Why should I bother about other clubs when all we know about is that he only wants to join Bayern."

Bayern Munich officials have, so far, mostly kept out of the unfolding drama ever since Jupp Heynckes hinted at the pending Lewandowski deal directly after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the Champion League final on May 25.

Galatasaray fail in bid for Nani

    naniapplaudsoldtraffordcrowd_576x324.jpg

Manchester United have turned down a bid for Nani from Galatasaray as it did not meet their asking price, the Turkish club have revealed.

The winger struggled to keep his place in United’s first team last season – starting just seven Premier League games as the Red Devils won the title - and new manager David Moyes is believed to be ready to let the Portugal international go this summer.Galatasaray are among a number of clubs reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Nani, who has just a year left on his United contract.

However, the Turkish champions claim that they have now given up their pursuit of the player as they cannot meet United’s £8.5 million valuation.
"We offered €7 million [£6 million] for him. But they didn't accept. We can't give more than this,” Galatasaray chairman Unal Aysal said."We are not going to follow Nani anymore. We can't give more than €7 million for him. They want €10 million [£8.5 million]. Because of this he is not on our transfer list anymore."

The Barcelona star, along with father Jorge, has been accused of evading tax charges over a three-year period and is alleged to owe in the region of 4 million euros.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been rocked by accusations of tax evasion, totaling over 4 million euros between 2006-09.

The Spanish tax authorities are investigating claims that the four-time Ballon d’Or winner and his father, Jorge Horacio, have avoided paying the charges due from sales of the 25-year-old's image rights by operating through companies based outside the country.

A complaint, signed by prosecutor Raquel Amado, was filed with the courthouse in the Gava district of Barcelona on Wednesday.

Messi moved quickly to deny the claims, and in a statement released via his official Facebook account, he replied: "We have learned through the media about the claim filed by the Spanish tax authorities.

"We are surprised about this news, because we have not committed any infringement. We have always fulfilled all of our tax obligations, following the advice of our tax consultants, who will take care of clarifying this situation.”

Under Spanish law, Messi could face a maximum penalty of six years in prison if found guilty, but a judge at the courthouse must accept the prosecutor's complaint before charges can be brought against Messi and his father.
