Sergio Ramos: Clearly Özil is a companion and a different friend. I've always had something special with him and I'm sorry he left. Özil's departure was a personal one and he decided his future. Everyone is free to choose what's best for them. Özil is different, if it were up to me, he's be the last to leave Madrid. It was his and the club's decision. We have a great team and hopefully it'll be a great year for us. As captain, I welcome Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. I'm glad we did a great signing. He can contribute a lot. Iker or Diego? We've already talked a lot about this and let's not make it a debate. I know Iker well and it's tough for him. Iker or Diego starting is a decision we shouldn't make. What matters is Real Madrid, the club is above everything.

Del Bosque: Casillas still my No.1

    307068_heroa.jpg

Vicente del Bosque has lent some much needed support to Spain international goalkeeper Iker Casillas, insisting he is still the country's No.1.

The Real Madrid legend has begun the campaign as backup to Diego Lopez in the Blancos goal, with new boss Carlo Ancelotti continuing the precedent set by Jose Mourinho.

Casillas has yet to feature in any of Madrid's three Liga fixtures so far this season, but Del Bosque says the 32-year-old is still very much the main man when it comes to the national team.

"Iker Casillas will always have me by his side." Del Bosque is quoted as saying in AS.

"Casillas is captain of the side and an important part of our team."

The 149-capped Spain international has not played for Madrid since fracturing his hand at the start of this year.

But a lack of involvement for club has not jeopardised his place in the national team, and that looks set to remain the case with Del Bosque reiterating his faith in his skipper.

"I would never say he has to play at Madrid. I am in favour of Casillas, in favour of his history and his trajectory," he added.

"He is going through a bad time and needs the support of those who have respect and admiration.

"It's not a comfortable situation for anyone, but mostly it is uncomfortable for him. But having said that, I am not going against anyone, only going in favour of Casillas."

The reigning world and European champions face a World Cup qualifier away to Finland on Friday, before a friendly meeting with Chile in Geneva on Tuesday.

Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes are the other goalkeepers named in Del Bosque's 23-man Roja squad.

This is the first reason why i love Madrid so much..IKER:love::love:

Muller: Madrid should not have sold Ozil

    313065_heroa.jpg

Thomas Muller has become the latest high-profile player to express his astonishment at Real Madrid's decision to allow Mesut Ozil to join Arsenal.

Los Blancos pocketed €50 million from the sale of the 24-year-old playmaker, whom they signed from Werder Bremen for a reported €15m in 2010.

However, even some of Madrid's players have questioned the wisdom of allowing Ozil to leave after a summer of dramatic change in the Spanish capital, and now Muller has weighed in, admitting that he cannot understand why the Liga giants opted to offload a player who was as loved by his team-mates as he was by the fans.

"I knew that Mesut was feeling very comfortable at Madrid," the Germany international said of his team-mate in an interview with Bild. "But, in football, things can happen quickly.

"Real threw everything overboard [this summer] - new coach [Carlo Ancelotti], new stars [Isco, Gareth Bale]. I wouldn't have sold Mesut.

"However, I had the feeling that he is looking forward to a new chapter in his career at Arsenal."

Meanwhile, Muller says that he has no desire to leave his current club, Bayern Munich, admitting that he is enjoying playing under new boss Pep Guardiola as much as he does Germany coach Joachim Low.

"He has a lot of fun with his work," the 23-year-old enthused. "His goal is to positively influence the outcome of a football match.

"He makes great speeches and on the sidelines; he is similarly emotional as Jogi Low."

    'I can't believe Spain call' - Nacho

    294932_heroa.jpg

Nacho Fernandez has expressed his surprise at being named in the Spain squad to face Finland in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.

The Real Madrid defender was omitted from coach Vicente del Bosque's original panel but, following injuries to a number of personnel, the 23-year-old was called up.

"I was at home with my family. I heard because my phone was flooded with messages, calls and ‘Whatsapps’," Nacho told AS. "I thought something was up, but not this. It was the last thing I expected.

"I can’t really believe it. To be honest, I didn’t really believe it even after hearing it, until this morning I was finally able to get a look at the newspapers with the news and my photo in all of them.

    "It's a gift from above."

The Blancos starlet went on to vow to vindicate Del Bosque's faith in him, while revealing he is taking advice from team-mate Iker Casillas - who has 148 caps to his name - on the importance of making an impression at international level.

"I haven’t spoken to him [Del Bosque] yet," he added. "I’m very grateful to him for what it means for my career. I hope to repay his faith in me.

"Iker told me to take advantage of the opportunity and that it’s a great experience - what all players aspire to. I’m going to enjoy it."

Spain's clash with Finland is scheduled to kick off at 20:30 CET.

Lukaku: No anger over Everton loan move

    304412_heroa.jpg

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku insists he was only too happy to complete a season-long loan move to Everton on deadline day.

The Belgium international, who is currently away on international duty, agreed to the switch prior to the transfer window closing on Monday, rejecting a return to West Brom in the process.

The 20-year-old is therefore mystified by reports suggesting he did not want to leave Stamford Bridge for Merseyside.

"I'm very glad [to have joined Everton]," Lukaku told reporters. "I read that some said that I was not happy, but I am very happy.

"This is a club that can bring me a lot, that I can bring a lot to. I still hope to grow and do a good job with this team."

The striker indicated the opportunity to play regular first team football at Goodison Park was a key factor in his decision to leave Chelsea for the season.

"I think at my age it is important to play a lot," he reasoned. "I have a good relationship with the coach of Chelsea [Jose Mourinho]. Now I hope to have good results."

Everton also signed Gareth Barry on loan from Manchester City, while the Toffees handed over €15.3 million to Wigan for midfielder James McCarthy.

Moyes: Fellaini will 'big player' for United

    313003_heroa.jpg

Manchester United boss David Moyes is confident new signing Marouane Fellaini will be a big hit at Old Trafford.

The Belgium international completed a €32.5 million move from Everton on transfer deadline day and the Red Devils boss, who coached the midfielder for five years during their time together at Goodison Park, is extremely excited by his old charge's arrival. "Marouane is not someone you want to be playing against," Moyes told reporters. "He has attributes other people don’t have.

"And with those qualities he has, I am sure he will be a big player for Manchester United."United had initially made a combined bid for Fellaini and Toffees team-mate Leighton Baines earlier in the summer that was both rejected by Everton and described as "derisory".

The English champions ultimately failed in their bid to land Baines but managed to sign Fellaini just before the close of the transfer window. However, the Old Trafford outfit also picked up 17-year-old Saidy Janko from FC Zurich, but only confirmed the transfer on Tuesday.

The Swiss defender is the club's third signing of the window following Fellaini's big-money arrival and that of full-back Guillermo Varela from Penarol.

    Lionel Messi supports Madrid

    292369_heroa.jpg

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has put aside the huge rivalry between his club and Real Madrid by coming out in support of the Spanish capital's 2020 Olympic bid.

The four-time Ballon d'Or winner has spent plenty of time making Madrid residents miserable in the past, but he sportingly took the opportunity to assist the city's cause this time around.

Draped in the white flag of Madrid, Messi popped up to offer his support at a promotional event in Buenos Aires - where the final decision as to which city hosts the 2020 games will be made by the International Olympic Committee on September 7.

While with Argentina's squad during the international break, the 26-year-old told the bid's Facebook page: "I am with Madrid 2020."

There was controversy in Spain when Messi initially declined to put his name to the Madrid campaign with Alejandro Blanco, president of the Madrid's 2020 bid, claiming the player's representatives felt he should not take part.

Madrid face competition from Tokyo and Istanbul to host the 42nd Olympic Games, with the latter being officially endorsed by Turkish Airlines - a commercial partner of both Barcelona and Messi himself.

But Messi has avoided a political and sporting storm by gritting his teeth, smiling politely and siding with the Madridistas for potentially the first and last time.

Ramos: I'd have stopped Ozil joining Arsenal

    312920_heroa.jpg

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos admits he would not have sold Mesut Ozil to Arsenal if he was in charge of the Spanish club.

The Germany international secured a deadline-day switch to Arsene Wenger's side in a €50 million deal.

Ramos concedes he will miss Ozil on a personal level and believes the 24-year-old is a "unique" player.

"It's obvious that he is a special team-mate and friend," Ramos told reporters. "I've always had a real friendship with him, and it's a shame. He's a great footballer, unique.

"Everyone is free to choose the best for themselves, but if I were to decide what was happening at Madrid he would be one of the last who would be going.

"But he has decided, and the club too. We have a great team and I hope it will be a big year [for us]."

Ozil: Madrid lost faith in me

    312477_heroa.jpg

Mesut Ozil has revealed the faith shown in him by Arsenal and a breakdown in his relationship with Real Madrid sealed his move to the Premier League.

Ozil completed a €50 million move to the Gunners on transfer deadline day to becomes the club’s record transfer and the second-largest in English football - with only Chelsea’s £50 million deal for Fernando Torres from Liverpool costing more.

And Ozil has confirmed he had intended to stay at Real Madrid as recently as the weekend, but felt a lack of faith shown in him by the Spanish giants proved it was the right time to leave and join the Gunners.

He told the German football association's official website: "At the weekend, I was certain that I would stay at Real Madrid, but afterwards I realised that I did not have the faith from the coach or the bosses.

"I am a player who needs this faith and that is what I have felt from Arsenal, which is why I have joined.

"I am really looking forward to it because I have the faith of the coach. I had spoken to him at length on the telephone, he explained his plans and that he has faith in me - that is what I need as a player.

"I am looking forward to the new challenge there. I have already heard that they have super fans, the city is great and the team is fantastic."

Ozil also believes Arsene Wenger can take his game to another level and is relishing playing in the Premier League.

"Wenger gives me the faith and I can develop further," he added. "I know what I can do and I know that I could make the grade with any club in the world because I am so convinced in myself, but if I don't feel people have faith in me, then that is why I had to leave and at Arsenal, I feel I have this fully.

"I am sure the new coach is going to develop me further and I am also really looking forward to playing in the Premier League."

:love:United the biggest club in the world - Fellaini

    312819_heroa.jpg

Marouane Fellaini says his move to Manchester United has enabled him to realise his childhood dream of joining "the biggest club in the world".

The Belgium international completed a €32.5 million move to Old Trafford on deadline day, after having seen a number of bids for his services rejected by Everton.

However, while the midfielder admitted the protracted nature of the move was tortuous, the chance to play for the Premier League champions made the struggle more than worth it.

"I’m very, very happy," Fellaini told the club's official website. "It’s a big moment for me.

"I waited for a long time, I’ve worked hard for this and I’m very happy to join this big club, this great club. I hope to do everything for this club.

"It’s the biggest club in the world, so of course I wanted to join this club. I tried everything to join the club.

"It’s been difficult, a very long day. I waited to the end… I know the situation, but this day has been very long.

"When I was young it was a dream to play for Manchester United. Now I’m here so I’ll try to give my best to the club. I want to win trophies. That’s the most important thing."

Fellaini, who is currently on international duty, joined Everton from Standard Liege in 2008.

Arsenal blocked my exit, says Bendtner

    238653_heroa.jpg

Nicklas Bendtner has revealed his disappointment at Arsenal blocking him from leaving the club during the transfer window.

Arsenal were unwilling to let the 25-year-old leave to join Crystal Palace unless they could bring in another striker first and, after failing to complete a loan deal for Chelsea forward Demba Ba, they decided to keep Bendtner.

The Denmark international has now released a statement detailing his frustration at failing to secure a fresh challenge at another club, but he is determined to try to contribute to Arsenal this season.

The statement read: "It's no secret that Arsenal and myself had agreed that I could leave the club during the 2013 summer transfer window subject to an agreement between all parties.

"An agreement had been reached with more than one club this week but as Arsenal were unable to secure the services of another striker, they reserved their right to not sanction any deal to be concluded.

"Naturally, I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to a new challenge, with a new club and a fresh start in English football.

"Many things have been said about my where my future lies after many years at Arsenal; the truth is I just want to play football which is when I'm happiest and Arsenal is a fantastic environment for any professional to apply their trade.

"I still feel very strongly about Arsenal football club and following positive talks with the manager, I am looking forward to working hard to regain full fitness and doing my very best to help to the team and the manager fulfil our objectives and ambitions this season.

"I've learnt a lot from my loan experiences at Sunderland and Juventus and I want to assure all Arsenal fans that I will give everything I have to contribute to what I believe will be a successful season for the club."

Manchester United sign Janko from FC Zurich

    article-2410260-1B9A6B8C000005DC-235_634x508.jpg

Manchester United have completed a move for 17-year-old right-back Saidy Janko from FC Zurich.

The Red Devils have confirmed that the deal for the Switzerland-born versatile right-sided player was concluded before the transfer window closed on Monday for an undisclosed fee.

Janko becomes the third player to arrive at the club during the summer following the arrival of talented young defender Guillermo Varela, and Marouane Fellaini who joined from Everton for £27.5 million.

The club revealed that Janko impressed Reds representatives earlier in the year during the Blue Stars Tournament where he played against United.

He also took part in a trial for the club and can play in a number of different positions but is most likely to be used as a full-back when he joins up with United’s Under-18 squad.

The Premier League champions failed to land two other targets on the final day of the transfer window with Ander Herrera and Fabio Coentrao both remaining in La Liga with Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid respectively.

    Dear Madridistas,

Four seasons of work and dedication. In these 4 years wearing the Real's white, I won three championships and could enjoy the love and respect of a great club.

Going back to Milan is a new page of my life, but I'll keep in my heart all the great moments in Spain being sure that I did all my best for the success of the team. Being part of the history of such a great club like Real Madrid is one of the best part of my life, even though I passed through some difficult moments.

Let me thank you all my colleagues, coaches, all the employees of Real Madrid, the management, the President Florentino Perez, all the Real Madrid's fans and all the others around the world that supported me through these years.
