Only till next year:lol:
nVidia will come up with the dual chip card, probably sooner than ATI (we know about ATI's timetable :P) ATI will lose again...
ATI needed to push the R700 up!!!

Of course 8800GTX should be faster. 256bit mem bus FTL (for the losers :P)

    GTX 3XXBit bus+ 512Bit bus ATI.Who's the technologically better....LoL:confused:

ATI perform better on higher resolution (Single card)

then read again.. i copied this from that directly

    * Despite its unassuming performance in DirectX 9 benchmarks, the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT is capable of beating the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX, which is much more expensive, in DirectX 10 applications provided that the Catalyst driver has game-specific optimizations. Of course, Nvidia’s ForceWare driver has to “know” the particular game to run it at a high speed, too.
    * The ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT and HD 2400 XT are kind of DirectX 10 kings in their respective price categories. However, these cards often prove to be slower than Nvidia’s GeForce 8 in the more important DirectX 9 applications.
    * The ATI Radeon HD 2000 architecture features the most advanced implementation of DirectX 10 today.
    * Performance of both ATI Radeon HD 2000 and Nvidia GeForce 8 is fully dependent on drivers, therefore, it is nearly unpredictable which graphics card will eventually become better DirectX 10 performer.

aand the 6600gt has 128 bit mem bus and the 9800 pro has 256 bit mem bus.. and does the 9800 pro perform better??

Having a higher bus and performing low is in fact having an inferior design. Technology is compared in number of transistors per performance unit and the process technology used. Getting better performance with less costs (512bit bus costs ATI a lot) is better design. That is what should be appreciated.

This is the same thing as how Intel used higher clocks in the P4 to challenge the A64 (still losing in most areas)

all the *600 seres cards (6600gt,7600gt) has 128bit mem bus and they were considered the best bang for the buck cards for a long time!! and still is in someway.. now they only lose to the 1900xt

well, then there is the memory clock speed too. I think the 9800Pro is comparable with 6600GT in terms of raw processing speed or just "slightly" slower, had it SM3.0 support. Those days, ATI had the better designs.

They perform well, because of the high clocks.

Guys i dont know what you think. But i switched to a 8800 gtx last week from a 8800 gts 320 mb.The only different i could notice was now i can go for higher resolutions.i mean 8800 gts 320 mb was not good at 1280*1024.But with new 8800 gtx i can go even 1920*1200 without any problems..So i hope this will stop me of buying a new graphics card for atleast two years.:yes::yes:

So you think processing more and more pixels is-piece of cake
