- some pixels have (mostly 7) low signal issue . not an issue actually its how it is (same as sony)
- 90% of the phones are hand carried phones without TRCSL approval

Theres no easy way to find the status of them. there are couple of sites where you can lookup serial and imei (theres no official google authentication like apple care)

- you only get seller warranty
- Theres no agent in sri lanka
- You cannot gurantee status of the phone
- i found few seal boxes with store display units
- 1 seal box with activated phone
- 2 carrior refurbished phones

after checking more than 7,8 boxes, found a not activated box in very good condition. So agreed to buy so that they can open the box. and then these things happen

1 - Phone did not turn on (usually phones have 50% pre charged battery with shelf life or 1 or 2 year) but this phone was empty
2 - for everyones suprise , there was a verizon sim card in it. (dont be alarmed for this because there are factory unlocked phones in US which comes with pre-installed sim in sealed package). So this means the phone my friend bought in SL has been brought from USA (not smuggled from dubai) probably for an offer and has been hand carried a stock into sri lanka. But pixel 7,8 stock is old enough not to hold enough charge in the phone

(All happened in liberty plaza in multiple shops. All the shops get phones from one central place. they will contact someone and bring in the phone. if the seller is good he will show you few serials to choose)

if you are going to buy,

- ask for few boxes and check serials of them online for all the phones
- by any means do not let them open box for you (you will have to buy)
- be careful of the above

pixels are great phones without any issues. so just buy and use. none of my phones had any problems in them. im still running 19hr of screen on usage per day (continous) on the oldest pixel 7 after few yrs of usage still

This is true man. I love Pixels as well, but I've never suggested anyone to buy Pixels if they don't know about country related issues. I don't know about P9 and P10 but P7 and P8 drinks battery in low signal areas. I've found out that Pixels have better signal reception ( P7 and P8) than iphone 13,14,15 in low signal areas by comparing with my friends' devices when we travel but at the same time battery would drain drastically

The Ultra HDR shots looks crappy to some people but I like the details but even my GF don't like to take photos with my P7 she likes her iphone 12P and that 12MP has a lot of noice but most people like vivid yellowish apple tint rather than details and when I edit my photos they'll look far better than what an iphone takes.

Most people don't care about pure android experience or AI features they want camera, battery and communication. But as we have problems with those they'll start to blame the whole lineup
