induction cookers need ferrous based utensils which are usually more expensive than the aluminium stuff we have in the market.
So you get these induction "compatible" aluminium stuff which has a iron plate moulded into the bottom of the utensil so the cooker will heat the said plate which in return would heat the pot/pan. This is less effective than having a iron utensil where the induction can work on the whole bottom of the pot/plan.
With that said, induction cooking is more efficient than the standard hot plate and also provides better temperature control (if you need that). However, it's still more expensive than using gas.
Also, some induction cooking hobs require 30A (or two 15A) wiring (especially 4 zone ones).
