Buddha [reaced not to kill animals, because it will hinder your chances in attaining Nirvavana. But he did not made laws like "You should not kill animals, otherwise you'll be hanged". He just preaced, if you kill, you'll add sins, that will lengthen your voyage in sansaara.

    Itigediya thama.

Religions are divided among two main systems.

Thestic religions believe in one supreme agency that can bring liberation to one's soul (Ex. Cathoic/Christian religion, Judaism, Islam)

Athestic religions deny existance of such a agency (Buddhism, Jainism, athism)

Agnostics beleive in one supreme agency, but they don't know how to prove it.

non-Agnostics either beleive firmly there is a God, or firmly rejects it.

I do think so. Every one is part of this society. Every ones gender, habits, religion or what ever charchteristic plays a part in forming the socirty. We can critizise what ever socitety is consisted of. Because I am a pert of that too.

But note critizism and insulting are two different things. Criticism is done on a constructive way, while insulting harms.

    agnosticism

Agnosticism is the position of believing that knowledge of the existence or non-existence of God is impossible. It is often put forth as a middle ground between theism and atheism. Understood this way, agnosticism is skepticism regarding all things theological. The agnostic holds that human knowledge is limited to the natural world, that the mind is incapable of knowledge of the supernatural. Understood this way, an agnostic could also be a theist or an atheist. The former is called a fideist, one who believes in God purely on faith. The latter is sometimes accused by theists of having faith in the non-existence of God, but the accusation is absurd and the expression meaningless. The agnostic atheist simply finds no compelling reason to believe in God.

The term 'agnostic' was created by T. H. Huxley (1825-1895), who took his cue from David Hume and Immanuel Kant. Huxley says that he invented the term to describe what he thought made him unique among his fellow thinkers:

    What is atheism?"

Atheism is characterized by an absence of belief in the existence of gods. This absence of belief generally comes about either through deliberate choice, or from an inherent inability to believe religious teachings which seem literally incredible. It is not a lack of belief born out of simple ignorance of religious teachings.

Some atheists go beyond a mere absence of belief in gods: they actively believe that particular gods, or all gods, do not exist. Just lacking belief in Gods is often referred to as the "weak atheist" position; whereas believing that gods do not (or cannot) exist is known as "strong atheism."

1st of all i would like to thank "JUST" for sharing this..!A fair interview indeed...:D

And i hope all misunderstandings are corrected now...!!

Macho Sri_Lion...as a muslim i have got insulted so many times bcus of these issues..In school there was a monk who used to teach us Sinhala for OL..!And he was so damn against Muslims..and he used to insult us so many times using these issues and many other of our beliefs...and all the other students used to laugh at us(u'll understand if u feel it) i was really pissed abt this and i wanted to even complain abt this...and i culdnt do it coz again it would be blamed not us but the Muslims again..!!

And once again i want to tell...Okkomala eka wage nehe...I respect every religion(jus becuz of one...it doesnt mean that the whole religion is the same)

There was a thread few months back against us..sayin that we r selfish bla bla...jus bcuz of one or two...the whole religion is blamed....

...and i never go against any religion.,,and i really hate to talk abt these topics coz so many misunderstandings...!

Finally want to tell...No one has the right to criticize any religion..Its just their personal beleif..!;)

(hey sri lion machan...all of this is nt for u..i just wanted to post it..so just answerd ur Q and posted ma comment in the same post k..:D)

Again a Big Thanks to "JUST" for this..!!

Machang.. I'm gonna tell you only one thing.. If a monk treats you differently because you are a Muslim, then he cannot be a Buddhist Monk!

Because there's nowhere in Buddhism that Lord Buddha have asked monks to treat non-Buddhists any different than Buddhists, so it is very simple...because if what you say is true and if there are monks whom treat people with different religions with different attitudes then that monk is not a Buddhist monk and its not Buddhism he follows either!

And I must say! Buddhists expects this from other religions too!

    END OF THE STORY!

Maara idea eka. Umba kohomada kiyanne hama religion ekenma yanne ekama thanata kiyala?

Islam & Christianity - unifcation with the God
Hinduism - Unification with Brahma, but Brahman is not a mighty power as the god
Buddhism & Jainism - ending of the long voyage of suffering (methods are different, but more logical in Buddhism) by attaining nirvana

Dan oya hama ekenma eka thanakata yana hati kiyamu balanna?

Critizising is the same thing like insulting..Its nt done in the proper way!
Its like Talking about the negative points...People are more used to talk abt the negative points in each and every thing..Specially when looking at another ones religion..Thats equal to Insulting and that as u said HURTS very badly..!

Note: There is something Called Constuctive Critizing too..!But it shuold be done in a proper manner..!People straight away attack without thinking from other angles..!As Sri Lion said first make your own mistakes then talk abt others faults...Hehe..oowata ganna godak examples thiayawna machan...but i dnt want to say it here..!;)
