This is not a simple answer question. depends on lots of things.

1) if the girl is doing a job

both should be doing the house chores including cooking. we cannot ask one person to do all. either both work together or you can split the work. I have some friends where husband cooks for three days and wife cooks for another three and goes out on the other day. make sense right?

2) if wife does not do a day job

2.1) doesn't have kids
then it is better wife do the cooking and cleaning at least. we should share the load and if the wife expectes the husband to do house works after coming home from office... that doesn't seems right right?

2.2) does have kids and she is taking care of them
this is the hardest job in the world and husband must help her in all works possible. I' in this category and I help my wife anyway I can. techniclly I'm not cooking but I do the support tasks of cutting, cleaning, etc.
