lol.... do you keep ur laptop plugged in to AC power all the time you use? I want to know what's best for d laps battery life.... as far as I knw, the best thing is to use AC power every time as possible and like once in a week use the battery alone until it discharge and the charge it.....

thats a good one, i always use AC power, nd i never use the battery, but i think thats not good aswell, should use the battery alone once in awhile !!

Wtf! How does keeping your laptop plugged into AC power be harmful to your battery? Current doesn't flow through the battery, you know. AC power and battery power are connected in parallel. (If this is the case, how do they keep the switches at Mobitel backed up thru' batteries? And your laptop is junk compared to those systems) N00B!

The user manual states...

In addition, the useful lifespan of the battery is adversely affected by
the following usage patterns:

• Using the computer on constant AC power with the battery
inserted. If you want to use constant AC power, you are advised to
remove the battery pack after it is fully charged.

So no more fuzz on that right.... lol::..

Buy a new battery when it is dead! What's the fuzz about all that?

But if you are such a miser (I don't think you are nature lover :P), yes, it is better to let the battery discharge completely, and recharge! But it is for general batteries. Laptops are not phones. They are supposed to be used in a general sense. You use it with AC power wherever you can, and when you can't you use the battery power. End of story!

I'm a nature lover.... a really huge nature lover... I became a vegetarian not because of any other reason but because I love animals too much n tht I don't want them to die to satisfy one of my meals.....

I was talking how to extend the battery life.... of course you can buy a new one but you won't smash your phone to stop it ringing coz u can still buy a new one neee...

If you have any tips on how to take care of a laptop... please post...

I once plugged the power adapter connector to the laptop when it was connected to an unearthed mains supply and it burnt ma laptops’ motherboard… glad I could claim warranty on that though I had to pay a good 12k to send it to Singapore as there are no acer international warranty centers in Sri Lanka…

So I don’t want such a thing to happen again.. Not only to me.. Not to any laptop user…

    So please share your knowledge…

    whats ur laptop

don't mate... I tihnk tht's what happened to my lap... if thr were proper earthing, I could have bought something else from that money ne...... + even for a desktop (which isn't much different from a laptop) it's so recommended to use properly grounded power supply.... even ma laps manual states,

This product's AC adapter is equipped with a three-wire grounded plug.
The plug only fits in a grounded power outlet. Make sure the power outlet
is properly grounded before inserting the AC adapter plug. Do not insert
the plug into a non-grounded power outlet. Contact your electrician for
    details.

    don't think i won't! not just now though, because i don't have a problem with it :P

but seriously, that is a bad example! how does smashing the phone be equivalent to "using the laptop they way it should"?
