@ the end we get to know that Leonard has already killed the man who killed his wife with the help of the detective 'Teddy'... but because of his condition Leonard doesn't remember.. and the only purpose of his life is 2 keep on trying to find the murderer (whom he has already killed but forgotten) & Teddy helps Leonard to find new criminals to kill...
