    The Technology (Engineering) Programme of Study has been designed carefully specifying, minimum and maximum limits for each category of courses, to ensure that the programme is balanced, and that it meets the requirements of major Engineering Institutions, both in Sri Lanka and overseas (e.g. Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka). The normal entry to the programme is through the Diploma in Technology, but entry through other paths is also possible.
    The minimum duration of the Degree programme, including the Diploma is five years and the medium of instructions is English.
    It is possible for a student to select any combination of courses that will meet the credit requirements specified by the faculty, subject to meeting the pre-requisites for each course. Particular selections of compulsory courses will entitle the students to be awarded the Degree in the following specialized areas:
