Need help on Installing win..

Guys, when i tried to re install win to my laptop yesterday i faced an issue that i am struggaling to come over. I had two partitions in my hard disk C: D: all of my backup is at disk D: when i erased the partition D: the D: parttion was shown as C: drive , I tried installing on both these partitions but when system copies the Win installing files and reboot there is only the blanck screen I tried Vista allso same thing happens, someone pls help me.

machang are you ready to loose your backups on disk D : ?

Then repartision HDD

prob will slove

I think some one have better solution than me

what does it mean buy erase ? fORMATTING ?

I formated the drive except for the one with my backup, the backup is important to me how can i save them
